On two occasions I have paid in cash to the ATM inside the branch due to counter service being closed. Both times the machine has swallowed my money but failed to count some of the notes. The first time £40 which I was refunded. The second time £30 of my son's Christmas money and after waiting ages I was told there was no discrepancy and as I had no evidence, the money was lost. Got a mortgage with them and banked with them for over 20 years. Please avoid using the ATMs for depositing cash.

Having banked with Barclays for thirty years, their service offering has gone from great to shameful. Ten years ago, we were on first name terms with a Business Relationship Manager who would visit us at our premises every couple of years, arrange everything we requested and quickly resolve any issues. Fast forward to 2022, and despite all the accounts being much healthier than in 2012, we have to deal with a centralised number, probably not even in the UK, call waiting times of typically 40 minutes or more and then speak to several clueless individuals - none of who take ownership nor have the ability that a one-to-one LOCAL contact used to offer. Would we recommend Barclays - in bygone days, absolutely, however in 2022 - CATEGORICALLY NOT!

Useless. No counter service. Paid a cheque in at one of the machines, only to have it returned by post a few days later. Took it to HSBC to pay in our other account and it went through fine, they couldn?t see any problem with it.

Awful bank, opening times seem to be suitable for somebody that's unemployed. Been banking with Barclays for 15 years and can't get in to the bank without booking a day off at work to fit in with their pathetic opening times.

Just went into Basingstoke Branch, first time ever, to the information desk, the lady gave me excellent and accurate information but her manner and tone of voice was atrocious, I had obviously made a mistake and didn't she let me know it! She interrupted me and was just rude. I'm glad my current account is at the nat-west, will consider moving my Barclays mortgage if this is the norm, hopefully she was just having a bad Monday morning start?

I was horrified to find out that Barclays is funding the climate crisis, more than any other bank in Europe. Since 2015 they've invested 104bn in fossil fuels! We've already started to see devastating floods and fires across the world as a result of global warming e.g. floods in Germany, China, Bangladesh and London, fires in Greece, Siberia, California etc... I would therefore recommend that anyone with their money here who cares about the future of the planet should switch to somewhere more ethical.

Terribly run bank on a good day.Being made to wait for a banking machine when no one is on any of them.My wife being spoken to quite rudely by a employee.All 3 banking machines with people on them who've no idea at all how to use them, whilst staff stand about chatting.1 banking machine working out of 3 so the queue for them is huge.Banking machines not taking cash.No cashier's even thought its fully glassed off.Are just a few of my daily gripes with this terrible run branch. Hold your head in shame Branch Manager!!
