extremely lazy and rude staff who are no help with enquiries. seems like the staff have no idea what they are doing as their management team is extremely poor! my advice to anyone wanting to register here is keep your money safe at a different bank because the staff here are not equipped to look after you

Lovely experience. All staff friendly and helpful but special thanks to Deborah Jiki.My parents were having issues with their online banking, something to do with a techincal error and an issue that the call centre and other staff members were struggling to figure out. Thanks to Deborah's patience and help, although it took some time while, we were able to resolve the issue. Love Halifax for this.

Ask to speak to a a manager and see what happens... 27 years I banked with the Halifax and when I went in on Saturday it was staffed by 'children'... Do I want to discuss my banking details with someone wearing his first pair of trousers, no... Do I want a private room to discuss my personal banking details, with a door that I can close to get some privacy... Yes... I was 15 years old when I opened my Halifax account... and 27 years later I will be closing my banking accounts down because the Halifax chose to treat me like a number, like I didn't matter and without the dignity anyone deserves. They say you are more likely to experience divorce than change banks... but this was an easy decision. Shockingly bad service that doesn't deserve my custom.

Even at busy times there is only one cashier. You feel stressed as a queue builds up behind you if you need to do a long transaction. It is poorly designed and quiet so there is no privacy when you are talking to the cashier. They closed the other branch in Basingstoke and still don't have enough cashiers - it seems like Halifax is not investing in branches any more. Have switched banks to Nationwide which normally has 3+ cashiers available.

So friendly, the staff are very helpful and polite. They have a broad knowledge of all of their products. Would definitely recommend

Very helpful staff and very inviting. The only thing preventing a 5th star is the fact that in order to sit and speak to someone you often need to book an appointment. Gone is the ability to just pop in and see someone there and then

Waited half an hour to see an adviser only to have to book an appointment a week down the line. Lots of staff on, but most acting as no more than receptionists and not actually able to do anything banking related. Also, halifax don't seem to allow you to withdraw money in change (parking money, £20 worth) without a pre-booked appointment.
