“I have 2 members of my family that are bonkers about arts and crafts, talk about kids in a candy shop, heads on swivels and let's go, yes they have so much in the store, so I am having a wander and I got called, there is an aisle that will interest you here, so I go to the aisle and yes,model kits,paints,glue etc, that's my jam. So after a quick scan and mental notes, we decided to look for what we originally came in for and sought advice on where we would find it, we were told they are upstairs, I am using a walking frame as the old pins are not as good as they were,and the person we asked quickly said there is a lift in the far corner you are welcome to use, which I thought was great. After getting what we came for,and extras, I went back to the model aisle and spent more money. The staff were very helpful the amount of stuff in there is immense and I have now some ideas for Christmas. Thanks Hobbycraft, my credit card will be going see through shortly.”

“I don't normally leave reviews for shops, but just been to Halfords for 2 bikes to have a free check. There was only one member of staff in the bike department (Bailey) who had to deal with multiple customers at the same time as doing our checks and also fitting a new chain to each bike for us, but although swamped, he remained very calm and made each customer fell valued displaying a very professional attitude. A great credit to Halfords. Many thanks Bailey.”

“As well as larger items they stock a wide range of uPVC trims to tidy up window and door fitting. Also a selection of replacement handles, hinges and locks. Including replacement letter boxes. Helpful and friendly staff with free parking. In Basingstoke there is a nearby Starbucks and Greggs. Most trims come in 5m lengths but they do have a fine tooth saw you can borrow.”

“Shopped in store last week, greeted by two friendly ladies. All items were in stock, shop was busy but queue cleared quickly.Great quality products and reasonable prices.”

“Martin and his colleague Ash were amazing with a tricky job to move my boiler from the kitchen to the bathroom. Their problem solving, workmanship and attention to detail was outstanding. Despite the job taking longer than expected, Martin honoured the cost quoted beforehand. I've already booked them in for another job for me!”

“I am blown away by the support I've received in store at Basingstoke Benson's for Beds. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the team, led by Simon, the manager. Maria, the assistant manager, did everything she could to get a mattress recycling sorted for me on the day due to a head office error.I would also like to say thank you for sorting my re-selection so quickly. The customer service given there is above and beyond. Their male colleague also organised having the fire door fixed quickly, so we all stayed safe!I highly recommend the whole team to anyone looking for a new bed, mattress, or accessories.”

Hazel in particular was hugely helpful and kept me updated on the delivery as well as sourcing a few extra tiles for me when we needed a few more. “Good store for all general homeware and DIY, focused more towards garden stuff Vs competitors. Personally prefer a B&Q though as I think the product selection is better.”

“I went to one stop st Michael's road tonight with my grandson who has autism I let him shop for himself for the first time and i waited outside the young shop worker called Tom was so kind I told him my grandson was autistic and was shopping and paying on his own and then I waited outside Tom was so patient with my grandson and let him take his time and helped him with payment my grandson came out the shop and said to me the man behind the counter was so kind to him so I would just like to say a HUGE thankyou to Tom he really is a credit to the shop.”

We work with a lot of wolseley’s around the south of England , but the experience and service from the Basingstoke branch is second to none ! sarah, our server, was fast, efficient and knowledgeable of the products we required and even gave us the better options to suit our specifications!Will 100% be returning !”

“Dunelm has good variety and good offers. Some are very eye catchy..You can customize your window curtains and buy the required size. While you shop for home there is a great cafe where you can Eat and resume your shopping. If you purchase lunch for 4 pounds your kid meal is free. While all posting about home products, I have posted Food picture . We tried Jacket potatoes it was good. Shop, relax and Enjoy in Dunelm Basingstoke.”

“Always a breeze to shop at this store. It's usually well manned properly with helpful staff. Plus its always neat and tidy with no long queues whatsoever. it has always been a positive experience everytime I shop there or to collect my stuff ordered online.”

“Great sized shop, even though it’s busy there’s usually enough staff on the shop floor and at the tills to stop a massive backlog/queue of customers waiting to pay. Average prices. Repeat customer. Has an outside area for gardening also.”

“Apologies for the 1 star. It was in error as I was interrupted.I've been shopping at Matalan with my 11 Yr old granddaughter several times recently and have been more than happy with the quality particularly in the clothing. The prices are extremely reasonable and the fit is always consistent. You know what you're getting from the label. The home ware is as good as the clothing and has some unusual variations rather than some of the bigger stores more predictable patterns and colours.”

“We bought a new shed online from Wickes, which was excellent value and great quality. Got really good advice from staff in store on selection and ordering. The new shed was delivered on a pallet to our home within 5 working days by a very helpful driver who transported it to our back garden gate ready for assembly.”
