Nice mid morning snack But --- annoying that there was NO Saucer with my cup of coffee! I asked for one only to be told they don't have any!!! So coffee spilled on to tray. Puts me off going to M&S again.

I am hugely disappointed to find the cafe has become a masterpiece in technology and avoids any face to face conversation. For many ordering their coffee would possibly be the only human conversation that day and now it no longer happens in M&S yes I?m sure it has saved money but I bet the sale of cakes has reduced I for one don?t like to choose my cake from a photo I would much rather see it for real . Sorry state M&S.

Very dissapointed with cafe today, arrived 1pm, only skimmed milk and decaf tea. No selection of sandwiches, however would say that they do not offer a great deal of choice anyway so not offering a full selection, was really restricted to just egg mayo. This has really put us off going again, whereas before this was our first choice.

The card reader on their self service tills doesnt seem to work very well. Rejects perfectly good cards and the staff just state at you.Really appalling.I went to the local Sainsbury in the end whose tech works just fine.

Very disappointed in the lack of interaction and thought that has gone into the new refurbished canteen. Used to be a regular and this place used to always be busy with buzzing happy staff! Very l robotic now and NO CASH option at all. Didn't like the experience at all. Just walked out and sadly will be the last visit unless we hear things change.

Recently M&S caffe had been refurbished with a new system of ordering through a self service machine and payment. It is more convenient for us as I can spend more time to choose a different foods and beverages.Ordered Egg Royale, Macaroni Cheese, Chips and Scampi and other foods and they were delicious. I also ordered an Afternoon Tea set but I think the tray was too large compared with the foods being served.

Extremely noisy!!!!! Not remotely relaxing. Only saved by nice staff. Overheard a man saying he hated the new ordering service (so did I) and wouldn?t come back.

Very disappointed with the newly refurbished cafe with its order and pay machine. Walked straight out again and we won?t be back.

My wife and I always liked to use this cafe on our visits to Basingstoke. Walked in with a friend last week and thought how nice it looked refurbished. Then I saw the dreaded machine to order and pay! Walked straight out again. We won?t be using this place anymore.

Disappointed with your new style cafe, very impersonal, you have given no thought to your older, loyal customers. I personally didn't have a problem ordering but didn't like it and found the whole experience sterile. I overheard 2 customers in the foodhall saying, they walked in and walked out, not your best idea Mark's & Spencers, stick with what works.

Shame on m&S watchedtoo many of the older generation leave the newly opened cafe due to the self servicemacdonalds style pay machines card only!.. most had cash to pay! You have abandoned the core group who use you !!
