Went to Waitrose Basingstoke for a breakfast & shopping. Decided to try their full English breakfast. Very nice young lady took my order, which was a good start. Only waited about 5 minutes for my breakfast which turned up & looked very presentable. Sadly that?s all that was good. The baked beans, tomatoes & mushroom were all cold and the bacon & eggs were lukewarm. The mushroom wasn?t cooked at all as was the tomatoes. The poached eggs were overcooked (probably microwaved). I was too hungry & settled in my chair to take it back so ate it all except the mushrooms. Would I rush back again? Probably not!

This is the principal supermarket for our weekly shop having gravitated to Waitrose as the supermarket chain that best meets our needs. We were using Waitrose already but when the Basingstoke store opened (with John Lewis at Home) it became the preferred store. The benefits are the size which maximises range of stock, speciality counters, ease of parking, ++. It was perfectly arranged when it openned but regessed with the closure of John Lewis at Home and unfathomable Government regulations affecting the juxtaposition of some categories, but as a regular that was never a deal breaker. We are happy to spend an hour+ provisioning here each week.

Popped into the cafe at 12:15 (the start of Saturday lunchtime), to be told they?d already stopped doing food. They had a refrigerated counter in the cafe piled high with pre-packaged toasties - but they refused to heat one up in the microwave.I went downstairs to ask the store manager if they were aware of what was going on in the cafe - to be told (I kid you not) that they can?t warm up a toastie because none of the cafe staff have been trained how to use a microwave. I thought perhaps this was a joke - it is nearly Christmas - but she was deadpan and seemed genuinely surprised that anyone would question this.I?ve honestly never heard anything so absurd and now fully understand how/why the John Lewis Partnership is sinking so fast. A shame really, as it used to be a decent shop with staff who would use common sense to provide a great service.

First time shop at Waitrose, a well laid clean shop. Excellent staff and quick service

Someone at self service checkout today refused me the purchase of a monster energy drink. Even though I had my work ID badge, my car keys and I'd been in there to buy one the day before. Not to mention I'm 35 years of age. The way I was spoken to was incredibly disrespectful. I noticed she didn't use the same tone with white customers.

Pleasant enough store, much larger than expected (it was our 1st visit since we moved) and was given free flowers ?

There is nothing wrong with Waitros itself, but Caffè is a different experience...Terrible service, spilled coffee, not much available from menu in terms of food, low quality burgers with soggy onion rings served without ordered chips, they arrived 7min after...Young staff, with no passion at all...Supervision and immediate changes are required...Avoid, not worth it...

I shop on line from here and constantly charged 80p for bags my delivery on 3rd July was 6 bottles of wine came in a box no bags...ive phoned to complain as this happens often and asked to speak to head office..i was refused I was told no one can phone head office..you can email but not speak to a person..yet if I walked into the store and stole 80p of goods I'd be prosecuted..yet they can do it to me time and time again...last shop was dreadful..I phoned to complain about fresh food not being fresh but looked as though it had been frozen also broken eggs that the driver took away as he spotted them before handing them over.when I phoned head office to complain it was a waste to of time I was told to upload photos to them I said I'm 73 and don't know how to do this only to be told can't you ask a neighbour (older couple than me both in thier 90s) or a family member again they do not live close by..when I said no thats not possible I was told therfore all I can do is let our supplier know..ive never heard from them since my fresh produce was thrown away...I had learnt my lesson not to order fresh produce on home delivery none persibles only from then onwards..not only did I loose money but was left without eggs and fresh produce for the weekend

Clean and some interesting selections of food. Only 2 checkouts open, which were both closing (17:40ish on a Friday), meaning a self-serve checkout was the only option.
