Booked my MOT in-person a month in advance. Went for the MOT today, spoke with the guys to hand over my keys, and went off. Get a phone call back saying it has failed, however, they cannot do the work because the person who does MOTs is on 2 weeks leave from today (so it couldn?t be re-tested). I still had to pay the £40 for the MOT, yet I have to find somewhere else to re-do my whole MOT (another £40) on top of the repairs. Why wasn?t I told to go elsewhere before the work started, or even a week or two before? Why didn?t they warn me in advance that the person was going on leave? Me not losing my £40 was ENTIRELY predicated on the MOT passing. It is vile and they spoke to me as if this is normal. I?m certain they wouldn?t tolerate it themselves if they were the customer in this situation. Bare in mind that I could still get pulled over and fined, and so I am under significant pressure to find somewhere else asap. Yet I did EVERYTHING right, but clearly that gets you nowhere these days. It?s a cost of living crisis and I, a 21 year old student, was scammed by a big company like Halfords. They also failed me on a missing wheel nut, even though they were the last people to touch my wheels (I had 2 replaced a month ago), so it was obviously lost by them. Surprised and disappointed they were unable to supply and fit a brake light today. I was directed to another Halfords but I went elsewhere.

Had a clunk noise on the front side of my car and couldn't diagnose what was wrong myself.Rang Halfords and they had a spare spot, came down the same day. The mechanic test drove and knew right away what was wrong, then raised up the car and brought me under to show me what was wrong and showed what was wobbling by pulling on the linkage.Replaced it in under an hour, fair prices, really good service provided.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Not the best experience unfortunately. They called me at 1657 to say my car is read for collection. I asked the guy what time do you close says 1800. I started walking form office at 1730 got there at 1745? they guy says last collection was 1730. So I told him you mate said 1800.. he basically hugged and puffed but I got my car. When I got home they didn?t even fill in the service book!

Took my car for MOT and service and and cannot fault the customer service from these guys. My car needed a part from Vauxhall who do not open on a Saturday but they were on it first thing Monday morning and the car was ready in the early afternoon. I was kept informed at every stage while my car was with them. Fantastic service and a special mention for Nathan who went above and beyond. Will definitely be using Halfords in the future.

Five star, efficient and friendly service! I called in without an appointment as my headlight bulb blew and needed replacing. I spoke to Steve who although was extremely busy he spared a few minutes to quickly replace the headlight bulb with no fuss.
