Very expensive, shabby decor, grubby, filthy windows. Very noisy as we were in the front of the hotel, 3 flights of spiral stairs which are lethal. Breakfast extra, sticky table, crumbs and stains on chairs. Poor quality breakfast. You pay when you check, says it all. We wouldnt of stayed if we hadn't paid. £155 a night plus £9.25 each for breakfast.

Our fault for not knowing that Sunday evening menu might be missing a few items... What we did have was not bad and we had 4 empty plates. A big shout out to Debbie who kept us entertained through the evening... Small improvements in the food would really work wonders as the place has a lovely atmosphere!

Just had the most amazing Sunday roast, we all had the roast beef, absolutely delicious, the beef melted in your mouth, the yorkshire puds were light and crispy, all the veg was perfectly cooked and the whole thing was lovely and hot. Could not find a fault at all, thanks for a lovely birthday lunch.

Monday 31st July lunchtime. Polite welcome from barman, after that it all went downhill. It became clear there were two table attendants for the entire pub. Eventually placed food order and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally after 45 minutes we paid for our drinks and left hungry. Shame, we are locals and have used this pub for over twenty years.

Wow! I?ve been going here regularly for about 30 years; it?s close, it?s convenient, and it used to be friendly. But tonight I and a bunch of friends (about 10 of us - from a local book club) went to celebrate - and were effectively made to leave because apparently their ?policy? doesn?t allow multiple rounds (I.e. more than 2) for small groups; the manageress on duty was very clear / fairly brutal on that point, declining to serve us. So I won?t be going back - ever. And I can?t recommend it to anyone that wants to relax with a few friends over drinks; they apparently won?t serve you. There are many other great pubs in the town, so I suggest you avoid embarrassment / disappointment and use those instead.

Stayed here with my partner as an off the cuff adventure, the staff a fantastic, nothing too much trouble, Jamie even carried our bags to the room. Upon checking in , we offered a reservation for the restaurant, in which we happily snatched up as we could see they were quite busy at the time of our arrival. Upon entering our room (which was massive!), We went and looked out the window to a sunning clear view of the Isle of White!!! A great big soft comfy bed, lovely complementary tea, and coffee . We headed down to our dinner reservation where Courtney greeted us, sat us down, and explained that she would look after everything for us tonight. The food was delicious and served piping hot! Just the way it should be. We decided that we had such a lovely meal that we would move to the room with the fireplace to finish off the rest of our drinks before heading up stairs for the night. We will definitely be recommending the Angel nd blue pig to all of our friends and family as this is an U spoilt gem in what seems to be a forgotten world of brilliant hospitality

I stayed here for 2.nights as part of a business trip. The place albeit a little tired around the edges is spotless. My room on the top floor was overlooking the Isle of Wight (what a view!). The bathroom was huge, the towels fluffy, the linen crisp and the pillows were the best hotel pillows I've encountered and I travel a lot. I've read people's comments on here moaning about this and that, what they're forgetting is, the brand new hotel across the street with brand new decor and newer furnishings, costs almost 3 times the price. So if you want newer and better, then stay elsewhere. For me, it was very clean, with friendly staff, in an outstanding location and a quality sleep, all within our company budget! You decide.

The room was too hot..open the window and get subjected to a noisy thoroughfare below An attitude of Non trust to customers..no tab ? expensive for what it was ?.and having to pay for breakfast is an insult

Don?t even bother, we went for Sunday dinner about 4.30. My husband had a full portion but I had half portion. We ordered drinks at the bar, I thought my husband had gone to pick the hops and make his own, I had a mock tail mojito - weird. The food came quickly but my half portion was piled high! It would have been better if the vegetables came separately as the piece of carrot was huge as was the roast parsnip which was so big only the outside was cooked! My husband had roast beef which he couldn?t cut through. His vegetables were the same as mine virtually inedible. We left our meals and when the young lady came to clear away we complained pointing out the veg, meat etc. we sat thinking she would have let someone know our complaint but no one bothered. Talking to other people they agreed not the best. There are a lot better places to eat in lymington.
