Booked room for couple and dog with booking. Com, was given a very small room with one small window and no space for bedside locker on either side of the bed,I asked to move but was told all rooms were taken despite vacancies sign outside. The room however was clean, breakfast was fine and the staff very friendly. I was charged £10 a night for dog which considering his kennel at home was approximately a bit larger than the room didn't sit well.Location great for Lyndhurst and the New forest, large parkland very close for exercising dog.The hotel appears to be Nepalese run which accounts for the friendliness shown and we unfortunately didn't try the curries which another guest enthused over,I would like to have given higher marks for the staff alone but the room was a massive let down.

Recently made our annual trip to the New Forest and once again stayed at the fabulous Ormonde House where we are always remembered, all the staff are so friendly and we are always looked after so friendly. Its central location in the New Forest makes it a perfect place to base yourself and, in our case, to invite friends to join us for a weekend break. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and the restaurant is a particular highlight, not only for its breakfasts, but also dinner where the option of a Nepalese/Gurkha menu is not to be missed! We'll definitely be back again next year - can't wait!!Rooms: Always clean, comfortable and warm with all the facilities you'd expect and need. The WiFi signal is also good and very reliable.Nearby activities: Bring a bike (which you can store at the hotel) and try out a few of the amazing cycle routes through the Forest and nearby villages.Walkability: Within 5 to 10 minutes you can be in the heart of Lyndhusrt village with its many independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Further afield there are numerous walks taking you into and around the New Forest with Brockenhurst just 4 miles away.Food & drinks: Do book dinner and try the Nepalese/Gurkha menu option, it's wonderful and cooked to your preference. The rest of the menu is excellent too and very good value for money. Breakfast never disappoints and you can relax with drinks from the bar at any time.

We stayed here in the build up to our wedding (1st June 2023) and had the most amazing, comfortable experience we could possibly have had!All the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly to us all the way through. There was so so many of us there and everyone was so grateful to the staff for looking after us so well!Even when we were leaving and had to keep going to reception to get bits sorted out, the never got short with us or anything. Can only thank them so so much for making our day so so special

This is our second visit 6 months and we love it. Family owned and run, polite friendly staff. Dog friendly, dogs are allowed all over the hotel with the exception of dining room but they do have a separate conservatory for us fur loving people.10 minute walk to the main town centre.Room is clean, breakfast was great and we booked for evening meals, my partner had a curry both nights and I had the chicken in mushroom sauce...outstanding for us both. Thank you team see you again soon ?

One of the very best dog-friendly hotels - full stop!Ample easy parking and set back from the road, this hotel offers food so good that we changed our plan to eat in a different restaurant each day and instead enjoyed the varied and flexible menu on offer at the hotel: all home cooked to order and tailored to your choice. Perhaps a wider choice of non-cooked breakfast items would make it even better. The excellent warm welcome was no illusion and we would stay here again any time we?re in the area.

Location was good, just a few minutes walk from Lyndhurst's town centre, and there was parking available at the property. The rooms were clean and their size was okay. However, the floorboards were really creaky and the sound insulation was poor. We could here everyone walking upstairs and conversations in the corridor. The check-in and check-out process were okay, but the staff weren't particularly helpful with recommendations for food, drinks or places to visit. As they offer food on site, there was a strong smell in the lobby at times.Dog friendly.

We stayed at Ormonde for a weekend mid-April with our pup and we can highly and happily recommend this hotel! Truly dog friendly, food was very tasty, all staff were great, and we'd like to give a special shout-out to Marcus for his absolutely outstanding hospitality! This is a hotel we'll definitely come back to.Two tiny cons to mention, that didn't detract from our stay at all and could be easily addressed by the hotel: at certain times of the day hot water would take over 5 minutes to finally start running in the sink, so looks like boiler timings need to be adjusted; WiFi was only reaching a small part of our room and often dropping.

On arrival the receptionist was polite and professional. The room was tidy and clean and the tea tray was well stocked.Walkability: Stair treads are very narrow. These could be a slip hazard.Food & drinks: The breakfast was very poor. Two poorly poached eggs with two halves of toast plonked on the side of plate. My wife's cheese on toast was unacceptable. The underside of the 'toast' was still bread - hadn't been toasted at all. Only the top of the cheese had been grilled so the cheese underneath was still unmelted and the chopped tomato which was mixed in with the cheese was still cold. Our comments were passed to the chef but nothing more was said about it and we didn't want to wait for another breakfast. Unfortunately this spoilt a pleasant overnight stay.

Nice little hotel in a great location within a short walk to Lyndhurst town and the New Forest. Polite and welcoming staff and good sized room.Pros: convenient location, food was good, good parking, very dog friendly and very friendly staff.Cons: can hear road noise when windows open and creaking floorboards from rooms above, not many rooms with direct access to garden to let dogs out and could have done with more information about walking routes or local attractions.Overall was happy with my stay at the Ormonde House hotel and would recommend particularly if you have dogs and are looking for a nice and easy place to stay right by the New Forest.
