My grandfather passed away this morning and used to love his holidays in the new forest. We came to GWT this lunchtime and it was so comforting on a very sad day. Discovered this place quite by accident when exploring Lyndhurst and looking for a late breakfast. Got a friendly welcome from kind and welcoming staff. The pancake dish was absolutely perfect and we have to come back for more!

We staggered in for tea and cake after a long hot walk in the New Forest. The friendly attentive staff member (who we later found out was the lovely joint owner) pointed out the best seat to get the benefit of the air conditioning which was very much appreciated.
