We've been here a few times and our last visit did not disappoint. First off, it's a beautiful pub that is kept up so well. The staff are so friendly, work so hard and they make you feel very welcome. We like how they offer smaller portions of meals, it makes it more affordable and also you don't feel too full ( and you have room for one of their yummy puddings!). All in all its great value for money and it's nice to support independent businesses that work so hard during these tough times.

Love the smaller portions option which suits me perfectly. Something you rarely see anywhere else. Also gluten free option of pub classics and Sunday roasts. Spacious conservatory, nice garden. Definitely be back.

Lovely little traditional bar with a great atmosphere. We had great service too.Marked down a bit for the food as my vegan roast was about 60% peas. My family found their roast meat slightly tough and would have given it 4*.I'd still recommend based on the service and atmosphere alone.

What a find. This must be the only pub in the New Forest that has a selection of gluten free options and so varied. From GF main courses to pizzas to wonderful puddings. Also the staff were so friendly beyond belief. We were all treated as long term customers and not as a family group that had booked on chance via the internet. Thank you for a really lovely time.

Lovely pub and welcoming staff. The rest of this review I hope, will be taken as constructive criticism. The meals do resemble something of a basic nature with a quality to match.Calamari is too heavily coated which take the taste away from the squid itself.Pizzas are large but look and tasted like a cheap shop bought base with added toppings. Kids didn't complain.Fish was a bit greasy, chips were good?.Price doesn't reflect the overall quality.

Traditional pub with amazing food, all homemade with generous portions. Nice touch putting a candle in pudding when we mentioned we were there for a birthday celebration. Would give more than 5 stars if I could, look forward to coming here again

We came here as it was near our hotel, the service and food was excellent! I had a roast which was superb, my husband had scampi which was lovely and we both had puddings which were delicious! Great value for money and lovely staff

What a find! A beautiful 17th century pub. Not sure ive ever been in one so attractive! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. An extensive menu. My husband gad the best homemade pizza and I throughly enjoyed my chilli and rice made with proper beef not mince. Will definitely be back next time we visit Lyndhurst.

Amazing as soon as we walked in the door. Great welcome from the lovely lady behind the bar and quick service. Sat outside in the garden which was beautiful. I had the smaller appetite fish pie and my daughter had ploughman's, both delicious and again good service from another lady. Added bonus they sell Crabbies Ginger Beer and Jack Daniels honey.Toilets also spotless. Could not fault this place at all. Wish all pubs employed such great staff.Well done
