Tried here as we had seen good reviews. Dogs were everywhere and it smelt of wet dogs. Had to wait a long time for service even though they were not busy. Food was like warm, not impressed.

Popped in here spur of the moment on a Sunday. What a lovely place! 3 had carvery, 1 had off the menu. All meals were plentiful, nicely cooked and delicious. Great choice of veg with the carvery, meat was just right. Staff were all friendly & welcoming.

dreadful service , starter arrived ok, sadly the main course hadn?t arrived after about 45 minutes so we asked , in a couple of minutes was the reply, it did arrive but one of the meals was incorrect, oh the waitress had written it down wrong. We didn?t have time to wait another 45 minutes so we shared one plate, although I?m still waiting for the vinegar and tomato ketchup. Perhaps what was more annoying is there was not even an apology, they looked at us as if we were at fault . Clearly some serious training is needed ..

Would highly recommend the Wheatsheaf Inn in New Milton if you?re looking to have a couple pints and socialise with some of the locals, relax and enjoy some live entertainment nearby the town centre.Parking: Parking is located next to the local church and close by to local shops and a few small takeaway chains. Easily accessible for those who may need wheelchair access.Wheelchair accessibility: Step free access into the building from multiple access points.

Rang to place booking for Sunday lunch and asked for confirmation that could take our dog. On arrival at appointed time were told could not enter restaurant area with dog. Explained told prior to booking could take dog still refused. Told could eat in bar area which was crowded and no spare tables. Very disappointed with experience but drove down road and found The Martin House were we had a lovely Sunday lunch

Went for a Sunday roast two weeks in a row whilst on holiday in the area. Great selection of veggies to go with it, and a delicious nutroast for vegetarians. Friendly staff too.Vegetarian options: Their website shows they do a nutroast for the vegetarian roast, but menu inside doesn't show it, so do ask as they do do one.

As regulars we can only say, that we are always made to feel very welcome by the staff. Tom the chef does a excellent carvery, and his gravy is to die for. It would be nice if they did fish as a special sometimes, but we do find Tom's carbanarra to be an excellent alternative.

Our family of 6 and 2 dogs were staying locally, ate here twice the staff and locals so friendly and really made you feel welcome. Food excellent especially the the 3 meat roast which is such good value for money, well worth a visit ?
