I have been buying running shoes from here for at least 16 years and have never been anywhere else. 1st class service and fair prices compared to other retailers.

Possibly the best shopping experience I?ve ever had! Incredibly knowledgeable, patient and they could do enough to help. Have really struggled finding a proper running shop recently but despite being almost 80miles away from me, I would make an active effort to go back again!

Best place to buy trainers. Great to have the gait analysis and to have it explained to you properly and how it relates to your shoe needs. Nothing like being able to try shoes on for a short run before you buy them and feel the comparison between different brands. Running club discount also helps!!

We needed some new trainers and the ones I had tried in the high street all seemed too narrow. The guy helping me measured my feet with a 3d scanner. He then selected two pairs for me to try. The first pair fitted like a dream. I did try the second pair but I was hooked on the first pair. A great experience, thank you.

Staff spent over half an hour with me, feeling my feet, scanning my foot and doing pressure tests. The assistant then brought various different shoes for me to try based on what she could see and the results of the tests. All the info was emailed to me and I had a chance to road test the shoes. I was given all the time I needed a d not pressurised into buying anything. I came away with the perfect pair of trainers but should they prove to be not suitable there is the option of taking them back. Definitely recommend.

Unfortunately, the assessment I had was not helpful at all. They used a walking pressure test and a barefoot running test, then used that to suggest I land heavy on my heels. When running in shoes, however, my gait is completely different to walking and I don't heel strike at all. Barefoot running a few steps across a shop and/or walking back and forward don't predict how a person will run in shoes, which should be obvious to anyone who analyses running mechanics. This does not constitute a gait analysis. That said, the main reason I went in was to figure out my correct shoe size. They said I had 'unusually' wide feet and didn't have a single shoe in any style or brand that would fit me. Despite being unable to sell me shoes or even order them for me, they still took my 'deposit' for having my feet measured. It was a waste of money and, I think, quite dishonest. The store has a good reputation, so I was surprised to have this experience.

I am not too sure what has happened, this used to be the go to shop for running shoes with really helpful staff but today I had the most awful service from one of staff. It felt like he really couldn?t be bothered to help me, he didn?t even bother measuring my feet as basic starting point. He seemed more interested in what was going on with the other customers rather than anything I had to say. This left me feeling so disheartened. I felt very judged and I have never experienced such bad service and safe to say I am never returning. Went to Runners Needs and had excellent customer service where nothing was to much trouble. If I could leave a zero star review I would.

Always reliable when i need a new pair of running shoes. Gait analysis had great detail and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Bought a pair of Saucony guide 16 running shoes to help address some injuries ive been having.

I went to Alexandra Sports shop on Tuesday 18th April to have a my feet and ankles measured and a Gait Analysis.The service was free and very professional.I am very appreciative and gratefulThank you for Angie excellent skills and knowledge and customer service.I now have the information needed to be able to get the right trainers,sports shoes that fit correctly.I recommend Alexandra Sports in Portsmouth.Thank you
