“Work for local authority and find most of the guys and girls helpful, went in today for an order of lumber, asked the first "customer assistant" busily strapping some wood for some help and was mumbled at and pointed in the direction of all the finished lumber with a much interest as he could obviously be bothered to muster! Then after wandering the aisles like a lost child in a supermarket scratching my head ( I am not a carpenter) thankfully Max turned up and saved the day and more time of mine wandering aimlessly around. If there was ever an advert for customer service with polar opposites they could film my experience. Well done Max,top bloke.”

“Not the biggest but good if your local and just need anything jewsons offers on a smaller scale probably got a better selection of smaller tools. They have a good selection of paints and drainage fixtures didn't look at what stone sand or slabs they provided but they definitely had some in yard. Very nice staff also well worth a visit.”

I noticed when trying other builders merchants, The `trade discount` you received quickly fell away, which only became apparent when checking invoices.With Elliotts, the discount was always fair and consistent. I like the fact more counter staff are female and are always treated with respect, dismissing the myth of the misogynist builder. The staff are there for a career in the building industry. I find them good humoured, courteous and helpful. I am now working in London where the prices take a bit of getting used to. My customers property included replacing the windows, but the prices for supply and fix were breathtakingly high. I spoke to Stuart Battle and met him in person and his manager, Andy to discuss my very specific order. The service was absolutely first class from the outset. Stuart always kept in touch to update me regarding progress and was always available to discuss my order. Along with Carl, his brother, the service I received could not be faulted. The sliding sash windows are now installed and the customer is very happy. And the price? Just about half the London contractors price. What more do you need?”
