I am writing to express my concern regarding a significant price difference between the prices listed on the Halfords website and the prices I was charged for Brembo Brake pads, Brembo Brake discs, and PAGID Calipers during a recent service at Halfords.On February 21, 2024, I visited the Halfords website to inquire about the prices of the aforementioned automotive parts. To my surprise, the prices listed online were considerably lower than what I was charged for the same items during my visit to the Halfords service center on the same day.When I visited the service center on February 2024, I was informed that I would receive a call to confirm any changes required after their preliminary checks. True to their word, I received a call confirming the required changes and was provided with a quote of £720. During this conversation, it was communicated that the brand used for the brake pads, brake disc, and calipers would be PAGID. However, upon receiving the vehicle after the service, I found that the invoice amount remained the same, but the brand of the brake pads and brake discs had been changed to Brembo without my confirmation.Upon further inquiry at the reception, I was informed that Brembo is considered the more expensive option. However, this contradicts the information provided during the initial confirmation call, where PAGID was specified as the chosen brand.Below is a comparison of the prices listed on the Halfords website and the prices I was charged:Front Brake Pads: Website Price - £62 , Service Center Price - £78.81 (excluding VAT)Brake Caliper: Website Price - £122 , Service Center Price - £176 (excluding VAT)Brake Disc (both): Website Price - £126.44 each, Service Center Price - £241.13 each (excluding VAT)Even after accounting for service charges, consumable fees, and VAT, the total amount I was charged (£720) significantly exceeds what I would have paid based on the prices listed on the website. This price disparity has left me puzzled and dissatisfied with the service provided by Halfords.As a loyal customer, I have always trusted Halfords to provide fair and transparent pricing. However, the discrepancy between the online prices and the prices charged at the service center has eroded my confidence in the company.I raised this concern to customer service and there is no response from them since 3 weeks.In my experience,garages are overcharged.be aware.Case ID: 22536197

I had a slight problem with my windscreen wipers and had it resolved free of charge. Lewis and Tom were brilliant and I could not ask for a better service.

Good service depending on the staff that's on shift that day. 40% of the time unfortunately you will get one that's unhelpful and just tries to get you out of the door ASAP. Which is a shame. I've used the garage for over 10yrs and always had great service and the staff always went out of their way to help me out. Unfortunately last visit the young lad on the desk even after he was told by his college to give me a quote for the repairs on my vehicle as soon as he left site, the young lad quickly said I needed to go somewhere else to get repairs done as they didn't have the time or space to repair it. Whch for a nationwide garage to say this is very worrying I've been a regular customer at this garage for years and was quite shocked with this attitude. It's a shame one let's it down for everyone else. Retraining definitely needed or keep him away from the desk dealing with regular customers and one time customers as this young lad has no customer service and doesn't really seem to care about giving the customer the proper information.

I had a problem with my handbrake. I thought it was going to be expensive and inconvenient to get fix but not at all. Dropped the car in this morning and got it sorted in a few hours. It just needed adjustments so they didn't even charge me.

I wouldn't take my matchbox car here. Not helpful staff all day around apart from one I think tried to help just because he was embarrassed because of his colleagues attitude. I just needed an new battery for my key fob but this was below this chap and said wasn't in his job description so refused to do it. I ended up doing it myself.

Colin was able to prioritise me and get my tyres fitted while I waited despite a busy day. The tyres were fitted by Tom who took great care and was very professional. Very happy with this branch, will choose again!

I can?t thank these guys enough. I had booked for a new tyre and then had to change my booking. When I arrived, my booking was not on the system. Despite it being past 5pm, the Assistant manager and a lovely mechanic insisted on sorting this and changed my tyre whilst I waited. They were friendly, helpful and completely. Thank you so much!

Shanley, Lawrence and luke were fantastic. Very friendly and efficient. I booked my car in for it's mot and within an hour it was done. Can't fault them, 10/10 ?

I booked a MOT on 3rd November for the 9th November @ 2.20. Arrived at 1.55 and a gentleman said he will do it straight away . He then starts to inform me he might not be able to lift it because the car is too heavy .He then checks car weight and what ramps lift can take . We then get in a discussion about surly the website would have something wrote in to reject my make of car etc. No it does not ( this is a small company called HALFORDS ) I have not received an apology about the ?? Up . Only a survey to recommend your shop etc . I also have not received notification of a full refund and out of pocket expenses also good will vouchers . I could write all the discussion but there would not be enough room ( not a happy bunny )

Called today and asked for a price to change the brake fluid on our car which I was told was £49.99. I asked if they would price match F1 Autocentre, who charge £40.00 and was told no by a friendly member of staff.I would have preferred to use Halfords as they are closer to home however F1 Autocentre have got our business plus doing the MOT for a discounted price.When I checked on the Halfords website it says they do price match so to ensure the customer gets the best price and best service. Shame the staff don't know this fact.

I had a great experience here. The booking availability is good and I had my tyre fixed within 10 minutes. Also, I had great customer service from Shanley who was very polite and helpful with my issues.

Great service as always. My car couldn't be fixed as it turns out its an electrical problem. However great communication and thank you for letting me know the problem.
