Lidl - below bar if I was to sum this shop up in one word, it would be dreadful! And here is why.The shop is too small and poorly laid out. The products are reasonably priced, but be careful what you pick up in my experience items have been either stored incorrectly or damaged leading to quality to be poor so much so I've had to throw items away. The store has tried to keep up with technology yet at least half the self checkout are constantly closed due to being card payment only unknown why you would just close them for this 1 member of staff trying to keep an eye on all the self-service does not work! Staff are rude, incompetent, and management. Well, you never see them at the front helping out EVER! Looking busy and actually being busy are two different things.Security - laughable, they are either the size of an elephant or on bigger than a dwarf follow you down an Isle an hide between them come.on now what are either of you going to do you have cctv stand make use of it!Overall, this store is run down and needs a bit of TLC compared to other lidl stores

A female staff there is so rude. Indian maybe, not tall. I asked her for help with my payment, she just rolled her eyes at me and ignored me.And the security came helped me.I go to this store quite often, and she rolled her eyes almost every time I met her...What's wrong with her? Does she need a doctor checking the eyes?Next time when she does this to me, I will just write to the customer service about this. She doesn't deserve this job at all !!!

Always a pretty horrendous experience in Lidl, only go if absolutely desperate. The amount you save on food isn't worth the hassle or the cluttered shopping experience, very stressful.

Handy to have a central Southampton store, however last time used was a protest outside referencing the abhorant conditions of the chickens that Lidl sell. Really enlightening discussion with the protesters outside and some shocking imagery. It seems they have been engaging with Lidl for many years and they refuse to sign up to the Better Chicken Commitment.

Really messy store not much room to move about. nearly all self checkouts but half of them don't work all the time creating big queues and no one to jump on till. Got very pricey! M&s and teso express cheaper on a lot of items

I was visiting friends in the area and popped in for flowers and such but saw some protesters lined up outside. Being a curious sort of person I spoke to one of them to find out more. Quite honestly, I was appalled by what I heard. The chickens sold here at this branch are Frankenchickens! These grow so fast they get sick, and often cannot stand as their bodies aren't developed enough to cope. Quite appalling in this day and age!

I've been a loyal Lidl customer for about 7 years. I was recently shopping at this location and encountered an animal welfare organisation who educated me on Lidl's appalling standards for the chickens it sources to sell in store as meat. I found this to be absolutely appalling and utterly callous. Lidl - you treat these chickens horrendously, please start sourcing your meats in a kinder and more ethical way. Lidl shoppers do not want to participate in animal cruelty in any respect.

Have been a loyal customer at this Lidl for years, but after speaking to protestors outside your Lidl stores about the incredibly cruel conditions you house your chickens in I can no longer bring myself to shop here. Do better Lidl, adopt the BCC today!

Came here for some shopping and bumped into a bunch of protesters who highlighted Lidl's poor treatment of chickens in their supply chain and refusal to sign up to the Better Chicken Commitment. Needless to say I won't be shopping here again and will be telling friends and family not to until Lidl get their act together and care about chickens.

When I went into the store the other day, some lovely people informed me of the horrendous animal cruelty that Lidl continue to allow due to their refusal to adopt a better welfare policy! So sad, I will no longer shop here.

Came looking for some cheap items. Fairly good value. Had a conversation with a group outside concerning the welfare of Lidl's chickens. Quite a concerning conversation...

Was concerned to find out from a protest recently that Lidl is selling Frankenchickens and that the leadership won't commit to end this cruelty. It's not right, and I'd rather shop somewhere where they don't put profits over animal welfare.

Went to this Lidl recently and spoke to some protesters outside who told me about the extremely poor welfare standards of their chicken. Honestly appalling. Lidl can do better.

When I last visited this store, I was really disappointed to learn from the lovely group of people nearby about "Frankenchickens" and the cruelty that they endure at the hands of this supermarket. Very upsetting.

Saw some protesters outside who explained to be about Lidl's use of "frankenchickens" and they are refusing to change this. Unacceptable
