I went into the store today to find a some new frames. The lenses I need will be purple I mentioned this to the lady at the front desk and she was lovely but said she needed to get someone else who would be able to answer my questions. I was then approached by another lady who after I explained what I needed then told me there were no mock ups made so I could see the lenses colour. She asked what I needed them for and it told her I have autism and struggle with light sensitivity and other sensory issues. I asked if I could borrow one of the overlay sheets so myself or her could just hold it behind the glasses so I could make sure frame colours wouldn?t clash with the purple. This would not damage the plastic or even bend it. I was refused this with a really poor excuse of no because ?they are very fragile? which is absolute rubbish it?s a piece of coloured plastic film that?s really quite robust. This left me unable to get them ordered as my overlay is kept at my work place stuck to a computer. All I needed was it to be held directly behind a frame. Real letdown and lack of care for what I desperately need at them moment.

Went in to browse the selection of frames and was approached by a very pushy lady who wouldn't leave me to have a look on my own even after saying I don't need help. If you have a high prescription with glass that needs thinning, I recommend you look at Ollie Quinn instead as the price was the same for much better quality and service.

Above and beyond, always amazing service from Team St Albans. Nicky the Manager, Amrirah the optometrist and Felix were all amazig as well as all the renaining Staff in the branch. Would highly recommend to everybody.

I don't often leave Google reviews but in this instance I wanted to take the time to offer thanks and praise to the team at Specsavers St Albans. I visited recently on a busy Saturday for a vision check. I was incredibly impressed by the efficiency and genuine care that I experienced from the time I arrived to the time I left.10/10. Thank you!

Unfortunately I have had a bad experience. Incorrect eye test resulting in need for another eye check. Glasses incorrect and need for new lens and a further delay of two weeks. Dispensing team were very helpful but disappointing that I have had hassle and the need to return for replacement glasses. My life at the moment is difficult and it is just depressing that I have had to suffer unnecessary aggravation with glasses. I went to Specsavers on recommendation of friends and they have performed no better than the previous opticians I used previously. ?

Up until now I have been happy with Specsavers St Albans but my recent experience has been poor. I noticed amongst your reviews that another customer had a similar experience. I regularly have new glasses as I work with computers and get my eyes tested every 2 years. This time, despite telling the optician that I worked on a computer and I needed antiglare for one pair, I ended up with two pairs that were only suitable for reading. I queried this only after experiencing the frustration when working on the computer for a long period and finding it strange I did not have the depth of vision I had with my older pairs. As the 100 day period had passed they would only offer to resolve the problem if I paid a further £69.99. A waste of my money and time to get a new pair in the first place. The 100 day limit is not clearly stated when you purchase and it should be.

Visited St. Albans Specsavers today with my 3 month old baby, which was not planned. I could not speak any more highly of the staff. They were kind, helpful and very supportive (even offering to hold the baby to allow my appointment to go ahead). Experience was made with the warmth shown by all. Thank you.
