“Highly recommend Jason and his team at Stephens Engineering.As a car enthusiast I ultimately have too many cars one of which being a retired London taxi with a Nissan/Jatco Automatic gearbox that lost reverse and was slipping badly after phoning various places who turned me away despite it being a very simple gearbox seemed like they didn't like the vehicle it was attached to, However a phone call to Stephens Engineering later and Jason was very polite and professional and explain that he would need to see if he could get the parts but if it needed a gearbox rebuild it would be costly. Although the vehicle isn't worth a penny, its sentimental to me so I explained that I was happy to have the work carried out whatever it cost.Jason then phoned me up to confirm that he could do the job and on the day I planned to drop it off the gearbox lost reverse completely leaving me stuck, Jason very kindly gave me some numbers to call to arrange recovery.Once the vehicle was at Stephens Engineering Jason kept me informed and told me that it was terminal and the gearbox had water in it due to the radiator failing which is apparently common on these vehicles.Luckily Jason had a reconditioned box and after dropping off a new radiator to the guys they then had it all ready a week laterJust picked up the taxi this evening and it drove better than I've ever known it to. At last I had a reverse gear, the slipping was gone, and it was shifting through all the gears nicely and not getting stuck in 1st like it previously was.Big thank you to Jason and his team and would highly recommend that anybody with a automatic gearbox to use these guys!”
