“Called in today, the first time for us, but friends had been before , lovely place in a great setting, the lady who greeted us was friendly and welcoming, sat in comfy chairs until our order was ready. Wow what a meal, thank you so much, will come again.”

“Not the greatest layout for a shop, but a good selection of products at reasonable prices. I needed a new duvet and Dunelm had by far the best variety and you can feel them, unlike buying online. Very important when you will be sleeping under them. The goose feather one we bought is perfect.”

“What an absolute gem this place is!! Our first visit, we didn’t know what to expect. It’s in a relaxed setting by the river, with beautifully manicured gardens. The pub/restaurant is much larger than it first appears. There is an extensive range of beers, all served by very friendly staff. But the true diamond here is the food! We had a mixed ploughman’s and lambs liver and bacon. The ploughman’s was enormous, with everything that you can think of in it, all served on a large/full size dinner plate. There was so much, that the pate, cheese and ham sat proudly on top, all excellent quality. Then the lambs liver, it was amazing!! The menu says served with mash and veg - on ordering the question came, what potatoes - mash, chips, roast, new? Veg, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower! There was masses of lovely liver, potatoes and veg were all freshly prepared and cooked. All of this, with a large wine and a coke, with change from £30. If you enjoy good quality food, served in large operations at a reasonable price, this is the place for you! This was our first visit, but certainly will not be our last! I can’t wait to explore their menu further.”

“Situated almost in the centre of Canterbury, this 300 Yr old hotel is possibly the cheapest in the city! It is clean & functional & there's nothing really to fault...OK, the single glazed window frames are showing a little sign of rust but don't let that put you off- we paid £37 for the night-cheaper than 90% of air bnb's in the area! The night we arrived the bar & kitchen weren't open but you've got The 2 Sawyers pub & phoebe's cafe only a couple of minutes away. Parking is catered for with a small one in front of the hotel (with 2 disabled bays which are free) & an overflow one big enough for vans (if you're working away from home) Situated between the hotel & pub. So maybe not the venue for a romantic getaway, but to stay on a budget-ideal! Just check the prices of accommodation in & around Canterbury & try & find cheaper!”
