“I randomly chose the Plough Inn when looking for a stop over between London and Eurotunnel Folkestone. The pictures on Google maps looked good. What a great choice it turned out to be. The rooms were very comfortable in a separate building behind the pub, recently refurbished, very comfortable bed and good bathroom with separate sitting area on a mezzanine floor. Fresh milk was available for a morning coffee. Dinner was excellent, there is a hearty pub food menu but the specials were amazing, the best venison we have eaten for a long time (and that includes at a number of Michelin starred establishments), the quail starter was also excellent, really good flavours. The cheese board had a good selection to choose from and the cheeses were ripe and ready to eat NOT dull and just out of the fridge as is often the case elsewhere! A great bottle of Burgundy at a decent price finished things off nicely (again not to be found in some of the London restaurants these days). If we lived closer we would be here regularly- as it is we will be visiting again when we next go to the Tunnel and maybe stay more than 1 night.”
