Slow Service, queue is very long as there are only two cash in machines. The only reason I gave it a 3 star review is as the staff are very kind and are asking you if you need any help.Overall it is alright I guess but it is a bank so what can you expect it meets the bank expectations I guess.

Clueless and misinformed staff, in particular the male (bald, beard, late 40s and maybe South Asian?) branch manager (did not get his name). There was another South Asian lady too who was equally as unhelpful. I went in to get my surname updated with my passport with the updated surname. He refused the Deed Poll because it was not stamped and signed by a solicitor. I explained that they do not need to be signed by a solicitor and I had given the same document to the passport office where they had no qualms about the Deed Poll (as it corresponds with the GOV.UK guidelines for acceptable Deed Polls and they do not need to be enrolled for them to be legally recognised) and he still would not budge despite the name being updated on my passport. If they tell you that you need to get a solicitor to sign and stamp the Deed Poll, do not listen and go to another branch as this is false information. The government has recognised the legal surname change hence why it is updated on my passport so I am unsure as to what this male?s issue was. It IS a legal document which the South Asian lady said it was not (again, misinformation). According to the GDPR, "you are required to keep the data you hold accurate and up to date" which this male refused to do. By refusing to change my surname that corresponds to my passport (main ID), it creates a discrepancy between my real surname and an old surname that is no longer on my passport which is fraudulent. The irony of that.On the GOV.UK Website, it does not state that a Deed Poll needs to be signed and stamped by a solicitor for it to be recognised. You need two core witnesses (which I have) that are not related to you or live at the same address as you to sign it for it to be recognised. Also, where on the Halifax website does it say it needs to be signed and stamped by a solicitor? I spoke to Halifax Customer Service and they stated there is no requirement for it to be signed by a solicitor and stamped by them. Just that the Deed Poll needs to be signed which it has by two core witnesses (in line with the GOV.UK regulations). And they said if the change has been updated on a legal document (passport and it has) there should be no issue. I am not asking to request a surname change but for my details to be updated.Plus, if my passport has the updated surname what is the issue? Again, I explained this but I was given a patronising lecture about how in his 17 years of experience Deed Polls are signed and stamped. Well, it doesn't take a genius to do a quick Google search on the official GOV.UK website to realise that you're misinformed and that is not the case.Under Article 5 Section D (https://gdpr-info.eu/art-5-gdpr/), this is a breach of the GDPR which requires all businesses to ensure they have up to date details. Therefore, by not updating my surname and having file a surname that is no longer my surname nor on record, these branch managers have violated the GDPR.My Deed Poll was 1) the original, 2) signed and dated and 3) witnessed by TWO individuals who do NOT live at my address and NOT related to me. Hence why it was accepted by the HMRC passport office. It does NOT need to be stamped nor witnessed by a solicitor for it to be valid.Very frustrating and I have made a formal complaint because of the stress this has caused me and wasting my time. As branch managers, YOU should be informed on how the system and processes work for Deed Polls instead of turning them away due to inaccurate information. I hope these branch managers read this review, take on this complaint and look over the regulations on Deed Polls so that they do not waste the time of loyal customers and turn them away again. Especially since they were so adamant that they were right when the things they said were not in line with the government regulations of Deed Polls and wrong.

Needed to visit the branch Saturday morning. Closed due to covid. Every other bank is managing to open and provide a service for their customers. This is a disgrace. Absolutely no excuse for working a three day week now.

Wanted to deposit cash and had to wait 25 minutes as the deposit machine was faulty. The other deposit machine was not working. I was third in a lengthy queue. On asking a member of staff if I could do my transaction over the counter, she simply said "we do not have a counter".Have used this branch many times before when it was proper bank ie. when there was a counter and staff worked behind it. Will never visit again. Staff anything but polite and helpful

Desperately needed to pay in a cheque today, left work half an hour early just to come and do this, hit horrendous traffic but ran from my car to the bank to get there with 4 minutes to spare before they closed to arrive and realise they have already closed early!I only needed to use the machine for the 30 seconds it takes to pay in a cheque, I don't understand why they can't close at 6 which is the time they have advertised on the door that they close at!

An absolute usless staff service i visited Bluewater Halifax on the 27th June 2019. Around 12:30pm . Both staff ladys were busy so my son and I waited until someone will come to see us . Another couple shows up . And the lady who finished first went straight to serve this couple and ignored us . Both staff members did see me when i was waiting. Very disappointed.

Apparently this branch has no longer got a counter service. I had to pay a cheque into my account and the machine didnâ??t recognise it. I was advised to go to either Gravesend or Dartford to do this.
