Walked in today with a damaged pair of frames bought in this very opticians. Not cheap ones either. Immediate response was sullen, immediately unhelpful and with zero interest in me or my needs. I walked out immediately.Oddly, a short walk down to David Clulow (their sister store) and the very helpful staff showed genuine interest in me and my broken frames. A simple question about where I bought my frames and bingo - my details and previous order were on their system and replacement frames with my existing lenses were ordered. It?s really simple when you have the customer in mind. Well done Clulow - clueless John Lewis.

Brilliant place, so careful and professional with eye tests, I don't trust my eyes with anyone else. They have the latest equipment so they can check further behind your eyes. Spotlessly clean place, very friendly and professional staff, they don't push you to buy expensive glasses but will help and advise. Highly recommend ?

I used John Lewis Opticians for the first time a couple of years ago and the experience was a good one, so obviously decided to return when I recently needed an eye test. Staff were friendly etc and having had the eye test I chose some new frames, plus also wanted prescription sunglasses and replacement lenses in my old frames. This all came to the princely sum of £1,400+ (including discounts). I was asked to pay in full and told it would be around 2-3 weeks before I have my new glasses. It was then approaching 4 weeks and I hadn't heard anything from JL so I decided to call, however, no one picks up the phone. I tried most of the morning and finally got through. I was told that the sunglasses and replacement lenses are in but they need to check on the new frames and asked if I would mind if they called back in around an hour. No call received that day or the following day. I literally tried calling them 10 times today and no one picks up the phone, so it looks like I'm going to have to call in in person to find out what's going on. probably my last visit to them now as for what you spend, the after sales treatment is pretty poor.

Since the New Manager, Louisa has been in charge, this store has got so much better. Great customer service, staff happy to help and assist. Would visit again ??

DONT BUY YOUR GLASSES GERE. I purchased 2 glasses back in November 2022. One being the reading glasses and one sunglasses, both with prescription on them. First nobody told me that the glasses you tried on is your actual glasses. So when the reading glasses arrived it had to be bend a lot. The sunglasses never arrived. While I was still waiting for the sunglasses, I brought the reading one back as the expensive lens I originally purchased were wrong. It was just before Christmas. Second week of January had a call from them saying the lens came back scratched so they were sending it back to be redone. Still waiting for the sunglasses at this point. Around the 20th January 2023 I came back to the shop and as my sunglasses never arrived, I asked them if I could change it as the original frame were too big. The said I could and I ordered new sunglasses. At this point according to them, my reading glasses were on its way. Pass forward to 26th February 2023, I came back to the store just to find out that the lab has cancelled my order and nobody at the store could be bored to call me to let me know. After waiting a long time and spending over £1k in prescription glasses I have none and will have to start the process with another shop and wait god knows how long for my glasses that I need to be able to drive. Thanks so much for the rubbish service and will never come back here. P.S: spoke to the assistant manager today. Don?t understand what is going on. The clearly don?t care about the customers and this place lacks big time in management. They have one job to do and they failed. DONT BUY YIUR GLASSES HERE.

I can't thank this branch enough for their help. My glasses had broken and the manager, Kiran (apologies if spelling incorrect), was incredibly helpful in ensuring that the glasses were fixed within minutes. Everyone else in the store was incredibly friendly and welcoming at the same time. Look forward to upgrading my glasses with you soon. Many thanks

I wish I didn't go to J L it was my 1st ever visit to have my eyes checked they weren't that bad the letters became a little blurry but over the course of the day they would rectify so I thought I'd get them checked before the got worse and they saw me coming gave me reading prescription that magnified the letters quite abit. I purchased the glasses still questioning their explanation went to specsavers only to be told that I didn't need them that I could have brought over the counter reading glasses that was a painful and expensive lesson. They're sharks is what they are!! They actually made my vision worse I'm certain of that!!!

Dreadful customer service. I felt I was being discrimated. I had an appointment booked for for 4:30pm I arrived late by about 15 mins. I was just told I won't be seen because I am late. Nothing was mentioned in my booking. I rushed to get on time with bad traffic on A2 + a long winding walk to the store hearing just that without any offer /asking about re-book.. I just couldn't belive I was in the UK and in John Lewis. Shall never go to John Lewis again not to even buy anything.

I had an appointment for an eye test at John Lewis Opticians in Bluewater at 12.40 today 7th August 2021, I arrived at Bluewater only to receive a telephone call at 11.40 to tell me the the optometrist had not turned up at work so they were cancelling my appointment. When I questioned what time they knew this, I was informed at 10.00am when the store opened!When I asked when they could re-book my appointment they stated it would not be before the 26th August 2021 but could not provide an appointment or time and I would be best going online to book another appointment, given that I had already waited over a month for this appointment. I have booked with an alternative optician as I have no faith in this not reoccurring on the next appointment and would recommend that anybody thinking of booking with John Lewis Options to look at alternative options.I have always been an advocate of the John Lewis brand as they used to provide a high level of customer service, but the poor service provided by opticians staff and lack of care of any inconvenience that I have suffered, will make me think again before shopping at John Lewis

Excellent service and care I received today. First eye test for quite a few years, was a bit anxious, but they made me feel at ease and explained very well what was happening. Trudie the ophalmist was wonderful., can thank her enough. Would recommend.

First booking cancelled. No explanation. Rebooked but when I arrived optometrist was late/sick/unavailable. Online bookings not showing on their system. Group of customers all had to be rescheduled. Not even John Lewis. Subcontracted out to someone else.

Queuing now for 20 mins just to pick up glasses that are paid for. Only one member of staff working. Every customer taking forever. They need to get more organised! It?s a return visit as they could sort first time around!

I went to this opticians for the first time yesterday. I am very happy with the whole experience. Calm professional environment lots of different frames to choose from. They didn't keep me waiting. Very good price for my glasses too I'd recommend it.

Brilliant customer service and excellent range of branded frames. Been to every optician in Bluewater and John Lewis were by far the best. Friendly, helpful and approachable staff, lovely clean and bright store, great deals and a quick delivery.

Tried John Lewis based on a negative review I saw for a different optician, and John Lewis was mentioned as having saved the day. Very smart opticians shop tucked away on the first floor at the Bluewater branch. The optical staff were friendly and relaxed, really approachable, and not pushy. Mia was fab and talked me through the deals and options. Ok, the glasses weren't quite as cheap as other places (but not far off to be honest!), however, the relaxed atmosphere, quiet environment, and quality service more than made up for it. Fantastic selection of frames in more unusual and interesting styles compared to chain optical stores I tried. Bonus was I could collect glasses the next day at my contact lens checkup. Really professional place and I'll definitely use them again. Well done to the team there. I've used loads of opticians in the past - Optical Express, Specsavers, Boots, Vision Express and various independent ones - but John Lewis are by far the best for customer service and quality product. Definitely be returning and will recommend. Big thumbs up!! ?
