EE Review:Very poor customer service at EE store in Maidstone, Kent!I went to pick up my new iPhone after I received a message informing me that the phone arrived at my local store. The email mentioned that I will need a form of ID such as a photo driving licence, passport or national ID card.In the store, the staff refused to give me the phone despite me showing my Spanish/European photo driving licence , my Spanish photo national ID , the debt card I used to pay for the phone and the email confirming my phone pickup. She said that I need a British driving licence or a passport. Despite me explaining that the email didn?t specify that, I was still denied the phone. I asked for a manager and was told very bluntly there is no manager today!, which was a bit shocking as it was weekday morning.Nevertheless, I drove back home got my passport and went back which was not ideal as I live more than 20 min away from the store and I had a baby with me.I went back and provided my passport and eventually got the phone, however I was extremely upset at the service I received:- The staff in the maidstone store was very rude to me, unhelpful and very obstructive. I asked for her name as I wanted to complain and she just pointed to her name band and said she is leaving her job in a week, I would presume that she was implying that she doesn?t care if I?m upset at all. I have to say that was probably the worst customer service experience I ever had in a store! I left the store very upset and regretting that I signed a contract with a company with extremely poor customer service in store and staff that treat customers in a very unfriendly way. I work in the NHS and even under stress and busy work I would never treat anybody the way I was treated in this store. I?m surprised that this kind of customer service is allowed!.- The fact that there was no manager was really bad too as I had no option was to deal with that particular member of staff at the store.- I think that it should be very clear what EE accepts as a form of ID rather than keeping it very vague on the email. If the email specified only a British driving licence or a passport then I would have taken my passport from the beginning.I thought that my experience was probably something rare for EE, but looking at the reviews it seems very evident that poor customer service is very common in this company.
