Excellent service. Store manager was really helpful & friendly when I visited on Sunday. They repaired my sons bike & it wasn't at all expensive. I was expecting a huge bill for a new tyre & full brake service & repair & only cost me £66! Would highly recommend. They even threw in a tool kit so my son can use it to make adjustments at home.

Went to these guys after my bike from Halfords was beyond repair after 6 months [despite being serviced in this time] and all they offered me was £10 for scrap. Best decision I made, great service during, before and after. Had a bike that cost the same as previous halfords bike for over a year now and no problems at all. Staff are friendly, service is great. Highly recommended.

Today (Wednesday) around 1pm I took my bike shop to cycle king as my bike got a flat tire,To tick the tires of my bicycle. Their worker fixed my bike tire properly but ruined my bike brake (bike brake was fine before work). When I told them about broken brake they denied even after I requested them to fix the brake of my bike but they were rude with me. I came back with my bike helpless

RE: County Court Judgement against Cycle King, Claim No 461MC635: I'm a guy with 30 years using bike shops, and this is the worst retail experience I've ever experienced. It clearly isn't just an issue with this local store, but chain-wide, because a senior manager got involved and botched opportunities to be reasonable. On a Wednesday I took my year-old bike in for a routine change of cassette & chain because, as I told the manager, I was taking it on tour the following Thursday. I was surprised that a 15 min job like this still wasn't done 6 days later, but on the Tuesday it'd been done - but the gearshifter was broken, and they couldn't source a replacement till the Friday. I pointed out that the shifter wasn't broken when I handed the bike in - it'd been in perfect working order -, and I needed the bike to put on a train on Thursday - I'd already booked train and hotels. OK, this isn't the first time that things have gone wrong with a bike service, but normal practice would be: front up, and offer to pay for replacement and labour. Not here. (A previous time I'd come into this store, they'd broken a gear indicator, and again had claimed, "it was like that when brought in"; that problem had been rectified on the spot. I should've learnt my lesson. Is this their go-to response when they mess up?). In order that I'd lose only one day of the tour I suggested I source the part myself, invoice Cycle King and get them to fit it for free - after all, I said: you broke the shifter. I managed to source the part online same day and got it delivered on the Wednesday but was then told their mechanic didn't come in on Thursdays! I suggested I take it to another bike shop for fitting and CK pick up the bill - they said that would have to be cleared with a senior manager. Just a formality I thought. It came to about £30, and I wrote to the manager to be reimbursed. To my astonishment the senior manager Steve Williams said they wouldn't be reimbursing anything, and goodbye. What followed was a bizarre phase of (lack of) correspondence, which alternated between Cycle King resfusing to reply (even to a posted letter), then abrupt emails from Cycle King Customer Service who kept saying they weren't going to comment further, followed by - when I politely pushed them again - unreasonable and I feel hostile emails from, presumably, Steven Williams. Eventually I got Mr Williams to the point where he requested evidence that Cycle King had broken the shifter. Brilliant, I thought: I still had the broken shifter, and I had testimony from the other bike shop who'd seen the broken shifter that there was almost certainly only one way it could've been broken - by Cycle King (and they explained how. I later went so far as to get testimony from a THIRD different bike shop as to how the shifter could've been broken, and they corroborated that it was virtually certain that it was Cycle King's fault, and repeated the same explanation as to how). So I put my evidence to Mr Williams. They refused even to comment, despite them being the ones who'd asked for this evidence. I had to push yet again, only for another brusque dismissal from Mr Williams, I presume. I said I'd have no option but to take them to a small-claims court, and they basically dared me to. So I did, and weeks later a County Court Judgement was issued against them (Claim Number 461MC635) for about three times the amount of the original part and labour claim. But I certainly didn't do this for the money - it's a relatively trivial amount. I don't think there should ever be a case where a regular customer is treated like this, by any kind of business. I was polite and reasonable, and from the moment I took the bike in, Cycle King were incompetent, almost certainly deceitful, then completely unreasonable, and finally downright unpleasant: there was - I guess it's obvious by now - no apology when handing over the compensation. You'd think

Went in to buy an electric bike. The service was not good and made me feel like I was a bother just being there. No smiles, no hello or how can we help. Very rude staff. I was ready to spend £1400. I'll be looking elsewhere.

Bought a new bike for my son yesterday. The staff were very accommodating and patient. They had a good selection in stock and built the bike really quickly. The bike was on sale too so good value for money. Parking available at the rear which was a bonus.

As soon as we got in the shop the gentleman came over so politely and asked what help we needed, he looked at the bike and took it straight to the workshop and repaired it, while we were waiting the younger gentleman spoke to us and he was also very helpful and polite, I will definitely recommend Cycle King to my family and friends, I remember going in there when my children were small and now it's for my granddaughter,
