Now my local!Big ol' spoons in a converted cinema/theatre that pays homage to Peter Cushing of Hammer Horror fame.Lots of space and tables, always prompt service, good value food and drinks. Reliable, cheap, and cheerful. I'm always a fan of saving on washing up and any meal deal that includes an alcoholic drink. The Benedict breakfasts, chicken wings, and curry club are winners. A word of warning however; the Naga vindaloo lives up to its name! Don't be tempted to add sliced chillies to it ?

Beautiful building, lovely interior. Good food and service. Lift is available for those in a wheelchair but not suitable for those using a mobility scooter. Small scooters will fit in lift, but it is very difficult to get out/in on the lower (restaurant) level.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair users can access the lift, but even small mobility scooters will have great difficulty.

Love a good spoonies and what is lovely is other than tables, chairs, carpet and menus the ambience in every one is different. What i loved in this one was the art deco feel with the art work around the venue highlighting the wonderful views of WhitstableWhilst here we eat a late breakfast muffin which was just delicious especially with an added potato hash brown and unlimited coffees all for under £10 you can't say fairer than that!

This Wetherspoons branch pays homage to the late great Peter Cushing, actor. There are two tables in the front to enjoy the sun while you enjoy your food and drink. It seems less well finished in this area than other branches, though there are four beautiful containers of flowers in bloom.Inside, more tributes to the late actor adorn the walls, and to the right in the foyer are museum exhibits from that era of cinema.Being a restored cinema, it is very dark. Light is provided by several low hanging lights from that era.I was thinking about lunch, but time was against me.

Went with two family members and we all had the fish and chips. Large piece of fish until you realise it's about 70% batter, over cooked and contains fish that hasn't seen the sea in a while. Mushy peas were like water and chips bland. I checked the menu and it definitely said cod, but it wasn't like any cod I have had in the past, almost mushy texture.

As always, Wetherspoon's provides a good service, a good food and drinks selection and very reasonable prices. The outstanding feature of the Peter Cushing though, is the building itself. It has been converted from a (1930's art deco?) cinema into a pub in a very sympathetic way, leaving a great many of the beautiful and artistic features in place. The black and white glass lampshades are a wonder to behold and even a trip upstairs to the toilets is an education in early 20th century architecture. For anyone over sixty, it will evoke wonderful childhood memories and is truly a journey in time travel. Do go and visit; it is far more than just a pub...it is a genuine artistic masterpiece.

An excellent lunch in a beautiful setting. excellent service with special consideration for my littlest who wanted bread and butter instead of chips with her meal. Food well cooked and arrived promptly. I can highly recommend this fine establishment. Value for money and we would definitely come back again!Kid-friendliness: substitution of chips for bread and butter for a recalcitrant toddler greatly appreciated.

Persuaded by son to have a breakfast at spoons. Positive notes, staff were pleasant, place was clean, food arrived promptly and was hot. Food not very nice, bacon had an awful metallic aftertaste, sausages more fatty gristle than meat, eggs hard, I ordered additional black pudding that came burnt to a crisp. Not one to repeat.

Excellent Wetherspoons in a sympathetically converted cinema. Always busy. Outdoor drinking area at front and rear. Worth visiting

While I wouldn?t choose to eat here over all the other great places in Whitstable. I would highly recommend popping in for a nice pint and amazing venue. It?s a lovely building, well restored. And staff were friendly and provide a great service. Great range of drinks on offer as well. A pint was £2.66!

Very good range of breakfast food and you cannot get better on price. Extremely quick service too. Bottomless hot drinks extremely good value too at £1.69. This Wetherspoons has an added bonus in its venue being an old cinema with lots of the old decor still up.
