Famous initially for its kitchenware, Lakeland is a brand that launched in 1956 in Windermere. Named after the Lake District, it began as a mail-order business by a man and his wife. Over time, the range of products grew and they decided to open a distribution centre. Now, it has over 4,000 different products and offers multiple catalogues each and every year. Although they are still mainly a mail-order business, they have started to open retail outlets and are just one short of 70 across the UK.
Initially, the idea started with offering polythene bags to local farmers so they could pack poultry more efficiently. However, the product range kept growing with glass, ceramics, stainless steel kitchenware, and even wooden items. Since then, they have become a superb option to all UK residents since they can order from their own home and have it delivered to their door in a quick time and for an affordable price.
