When I asked to collect a prescription for my husband, I was told it had not come to Whitworths chemist, by the lady behind the counter. I went to the surgery, who assured me the prescription had been issued and sent to Whitworths chemist. Returned to the chemist, relayed this to the same lady behind the counter. She told me to go to Wells chemist across the road to check if it had gone there! I pointed out Wells is not my husband's nominated chemist! She told me she could not help me, even though I explained that my husband needed this medication.I once again went to the surgery, explained to the receptionist, who printed me off a sheet showing that Whitworths chemist had already claimed for this medication. She told me to take this to the chemist, which I did. I eventually got my husband's medication after 2 hours of waiting in queues, and waiting for the prescription to be done!!!!Unbelievable!!!!!

Short staffed most of the time but they their hardest and at the end of the day they are our NHS so we need to support them. Order woth plenty of time and all will be well

Had to change chemists, Whitworths used to be great. Not sure what?s gone wrong but I don?t have the time to waste per month getting prescriptions. Phone is no longer answered, prescriptions are only looked at when you wait, sometimes up to an hour in a queue to be told to wait another hour to be told medication not in stock, come back to wait in another queue, to be told to wait an hour for the medication I?ve already queued 3 hours to get. In the hours of queuing it seems that everyone else is experiencing the same issue with lots of unhappy customers. The staff are stressed and seem unaware there?s a problem or that things have changed. It?s used to be you?d ask the drs for your repeat, 3-4 days later you?d pick it up and it already be done. There?s more staff than I?ve ever seen in a chemist yet it seems either demand has multiplied or that there?s a problem with the system and it needs changing. How can demand have increased so dramatically that service had become so unacceptable and poor. It doesn?t make sense. I?m be suggestion would be two assistants on the counter with two computers. One assistant and one computer is evidently not enough.

In response to your reply, I can assure you that my review is not exaggerated, nor I'm sure are all your other recent reviews. And I have taken my custom elsewhere. My review from last month is below.Been again today to collect my latest prescription, third attempt this week. I did not think that this debacle could get worse, but it has.I will be changing where my prescription is sent in the future. You have to queue for an age & when you finally get served you're told that it will be an hour before your prescription will be ready to collect. So I had to arrange for someone else to collect it, they also had to queue for ages.I then discovered that one item was missing, this is not uncommon, so back for a third visit and yes you guessed it. ... queuing once more.I tried to phone them for my latest prescription but could not get an answer. Most people can not afford the time on this terrible service. This pharmacy is not fit for purpose.

Appalling service (Barnoldswick) . Collecting medication for my house bound father and for three days running I have had to queue for a minimum of 45 minutes. The first day I was told the prescription would be half an hour (after queueing for 40 minutes) so couldn't wait as I was already late for work. Second day I returned to be told there was an item unavailable (they had the script for 2 weeks!!!) third day and I am queuing yet again to pick up the item that was unavailable and also a missing item. There is no organisation at all. The worst chemist I've ever used.

Shuts early and often doesn't have what you need.Further response to your reply:I simply meant, please adhere to the opening times signposted on your door. The door was locked at 12.50, despite the sign saying the lunch shutdown is 1pm for 30mins.Finally I do use a different pharmacy but had to collect on behalf of somebody else. Today, reinforced why I use a different one.

The service is awful. Nobody seems to know what is going on and when you make queries about missing items from prescriptions you are met with a wall of dumb silence. They keep claiming they are short staffed but there always seems to be 6 or 7 members of staff in the back. It's been like this for weeks now and even though the queues have shortened in the last couple of weeks the amount of time it takes them to fill a prescription has not changed.

The Barnoldswick branch whilst obviously very capable pharmacists gives the worst customer service I've ever had the misfortune to experience. Short staffed and short of prescription medicines, huge queues and when trying to phone to see if previously unavailable no one answers the phone. I know we can probably blame the government but we rely on these places for health and feel badly let down.

Dreadful service at present. Went in to collect prescription that had been ordered and sent by doctor days ago. Arrived to be told it would be half an hour. They claimed the prescription had been filled during the wait but the package had the previous days date on it. If service does not improve will use another pharmacy. Staff member who served me lacks even basic people skills and is rude and unhelpful.

Appalling. They sit on scripts for two weeks and still haven't done anything with them. I then went to the other chemist across the road and they had it done in five minutes.

I started using pharmacy across the road when I first moved here but changed to whitworth who I did find much better and had no issues with until recently. They didn?t have my medication I kept ringing still none available three weeks I waited before I called my doctor as suggested by you who said you should have sent a form through for an alternative it was your responsibility not mine! I evenly had to use another pharmacy very disappointed!
