WOULDN'T STAY OVERNIGHT. I attended as a bridesmaid staying 1 night in the bridal suite and 1 in the other rooms. There were hairs in the bridal suite bath on arrival (bit gross but none of us actually intended on using the bath anyway). In the second room the emergency lighting was on all night flooding the room with green light - basically told to get on with it from staff after paying nearly £200 for the room with a very tired 8 year old. Velux window right over the bed so you will be up with the sun. Room had several cobwebs hanging in reachable areas of the room and hairs on the toilet seat. Lovely as a venue and brilliant to have wedding service and party all in one place. Food was beautiful and staff were helpful for the most part. Toilets and tables were kept very clean during the party. For the price I would certainly stay at one of the local pubs rather than the barn itself.

As a wedding venue this place is amazing. The food, setting, everything for the wedding was perfect. We have a really lovely day. Our problem was the rooms. We had room 4 which has no window to the outside. There is a frosted window to a corridor. No air conditioning or ventilation and a small double bed. This was just horrendous, we got a taxi back to Bolton at 1.30am as we couldn?t sleep. Several of the rooms are the same with no window to the outside. I?m abit claustrophobic so this was just awful. The room needs a king size bed and at least a fan / air conditioning.

I was at my nieces wedding and I have to say WOW the views are spectacular and just what you?d want to see in your photo album and the food was amazing, compliments to the chef and team. BUT that were it end! When we arrived with our over night bags there was no reception area to help with check in or ongoing information. Before the wedding got underway I asked how do we gain access to our rooms but was told we couldn?t book in until 15:30. The wedding was at 13:30 and I would have liked the opportunity to freshen up after such a long drive. After the ceremony and the wedding breakfast (18:45) I ask again ?can we check in and what room? I was told a number and a code to a box that contained the room key just at the side of our door, so no official check in process. Given the double room had cost £200 I was completely disappointed when stepping inside. There was a tin roof and stone flooring, and it was freezing, nobody had considered tuning on the heating to warm up the room in preparation of receiving guests. We popped our bags in turned on the radiator and headed back to join in the celebrations. When going back to the room, it was still very very cold but it was late and time for bed. In the early hours of the morning I attempted to turn on the radiator again but to no avail, it wasn?t working, and the room was freezing. The following morning at approximately 7:30 I went to see where and what time breakfast would be served and if there was somewhere warm to sit but was told by the domestic staff that it was ?probably ? about 9-9:30 when breakfast would be ready and they where in the middle of cleaning the area, so off I went back to my freezing cold room. At 9:30 we presented for breakfast. The hash browns were greasy and the ?streaky? bacon well over cooked. As we spoke to other members of the family it would seem they also had no heating in there rooms either. When I did mention this to a member of staff I was informed that ?the radiators have a temperature thermostat? which I explained didn?t help because it didn?t actually work! Half way through breakfast a young lady came and asked if we had placed our key in the box, quite bewildered I questioned what she?d asked. I was informed that check out was at 09:30 and could I please place the key in the box now. I explained that, given we were never given an opportunity to ?CHECK IN? and not told about the heating system or what time breakfast would be served, it would be fair to say on our part that ?CHECK OUT? had not been explained either and that we still needed to pack our belongings! A taxi to a local guest house would have been a better option but we had no foresight pre booking our room. You live and learn.

As a wedding guest, I highly recommend this venue. It is certainly worth attending one of their Open Day events to see the fantastic views which make a superb backdrop to a joyous occasion. All went smoothly, the food was delicious and the staff ensured great attention to detail to give everyone a memorable day. Couples choose their own photographer and florist. This personal input makes every wedding unique.

Was there for a uni mates wedding. Amazing setting with rolling hills to all sides, staff were fantastic and the food was delicious during the wedding breakfast Decent priced Amstel or Biere Moretti. Outside wedding area and as the weather happened to be fantastic it was an amazing setting

Really interesting wedding venue. The place had lots of moving partition walls so that by the evening the guests had plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy and a huge central bar, large pizza oven and counter top where supper was served, and breakfast the next morning. The staff were very friendly and the place was clean and tidy. From what I saw of the guest rooms the ensuites were spacious and the beds looked comfortable. Definitely worth checking out if you are planning a wedding. The location is a little remote but that means beautiful countryside views and peace all around. There is an outside ceremony area but due to bad weather the wedding we attended was held indoors.
