My Mum visited your store 22.12.23, she sent me the following email:"Today went into Lancaster for the 1st time in 4 weeks, (she has not been well) wanted some Day & Night Cream from No 7. In Boots looked around for the assistant and found her talking to two other beauty assistants from other beauty counters, managed to distract her told her what I wanted, but said I had a few more bits to get and would be back. Went back she is still talking with these other two assistants. Managed to distract her again, she asked if I had a Boots Card, put it into the Machine, and then carried on putting my things through, how much do I have on my Boots Card she said £34 pounds so I said can you take that off my bill?, she said, "You should have said before, it would mean me taking everything out of your bag and re-doing the transaction, so you will have to go to the main tills to do that" well why can you not do it? she said I am too busy. But you were talking on both occasions when i came and they were not customers and I cannot see anyone else waiting, she muttered a bit but eventually did it for me it saved me £30 on my bill. She still did not have a customer when I left, she wish me a Merry Christmas and walked off to carry on talking to the other two assistants. How Rude is that.My Mum, like all Boots loyal customer deserves better. You are Not the cheapest but you have been around for so many years that people of my mum's vintage continue to patronise your store & for that, your staff need to raise their game not look down their noses, think on Boots Lancaster & be better.

It's got most things you'd expect to find. Not impressed when told to use the app to obtain items out of stock. Doesn't anybody order stuff for customers anymore?

The staff in Boots used to be lovely but on my visit last week I found them rude and condescending, I thought maybe the lady walking on the shop floor may just be having a bad day or maybe me interrupting her conversation with a beauty counter lady to ask for help was not too much to cope with, but on reaching the till to pay the tall, dark haired man was just as bad, I think a course in how to at least smile would be very beneficial or possibly a longer lunch so the ladies can chat without making customers feel awful for asking for assistance. My boots advantage card was thrown away after this visit as it's no longer needed due to me not going back there again, it's sad to say but unless the staff are changed there will be no need to keep this store open as the customers will go elsewhere where they can feel appreciated.

I worked here some time ago and one thing we were taught was never to ignore a customer. I was trying to choose a No7 lipstick, 2 staff were busy chatting, completely ignoring myself, I walked out without a purchase and I probably not be walking in again.

I avoid shopping here because I hate three for two. I want one at a fair price.I wanted paracetamol caplets on this occasion but they call them all tablets now. The assistant opened the packets to show me the contents. 10 out of 10 to her.

Went in to the pharmacy for advise there were 3 staff members in the pharmacy standing at the back and very visible. One on mobile phone, others standing and chatting. Not one of them came out from the back to serve. They could clearly see I was waiting there. I waited few minutes then left. Appalling service.

This is a very honest review of my experience purchasing my favorite foundation from Estee Lauder at Boots in Lancaster, and let me tell you, it's a horrifying story for any girl who has ever been seriously misled by a makeup counter "specialist." I have no idea what her name is, so from this moment onward, I will call her Margaret (because I dislike this name). The story starts innocently. A day before my holiday abroad, amidst the chaos of packing, I entered Boots in Lancaster with the hope of purchasing a bottle of Double Wear. I've been buying this foundation for 7 years, and I've been using 1N and 1C shades depending on the season and country of my residence and how my skin is doing. I think my first mistake was that I failed to note down the shade of my foundation before going shopping. In my defense, I was hoping that since I knew which shades worked for me, the salesperson at the counter would be able to advise me.In hindsight, the first warning sign I ignored due to my hurry and eagerness to buy the foundation was that Margaret, the Estee Lauder Shop Assistant, had a peach-yellowish face covered with foundation, clearly showing on her neckline. Disturbing, I know. "It's okay, don't worry," I thought to myself. "Maybe she simply ran out of her usual colour on that very day." I explained that I wished to purchase a foundation and that I was quite sure I was currently using a shade called Porcelain, but I couldn't remember the specific number in the range. I also mentioned that I had previously used a 1C shade from the range, and both shades had worked for me. I asked if she could help me find my exact shade. She had a confused look on her face, so I explained that I was on the website, trying to jog my memory, but I couldn't recall the name of my shade. The first thing Margaret said was that all shades in 1 are too light and wrong for me. She also gave me a look that, in hindsight, I interpret as slight contempt, perhaps because I had only gotten up an hour before and looked disheveled. I said I would like to try one of the shades in 1, but Margaret repeated that she was certain these were too light, and I needed a shade 2. She spoke with such confidence, and her body language indicated that she wouldn't allow me to try any foundation samples from the 1 selection. I began to doubt myself. She tried a cool shade 2, and she said it looked very good. She suggested I use a skin tone matching app, which I did, and it suggested a warm shade in 2. This worried me because I had been matched to many foundation shades before, and I had never been matched to a warm shade. I explained my concerns, pointing to my pink skin that lacked any warmth, and Margaret looked at me as if I were being foolish. I asked again to try another shade in 1, a cool tone, and Margaret insisted that I was matched to a warm shade in 2 and that she was convinced other shades I wanted to try would not suit me.Glancing at the clock and feeling very uncomfortable, I thought, "Maybe I should buy this shade. Maybe I have some tan left from the summer, and this shade will work. Besides, I have to go and pack!" So, I purchased the recommended shade. The next day, I did my makeup as usual and went to the airport early in the morning. When the daylight fell on my face while waiting to board the plane, my husband asked, "What is that on your neck?" I had no idea. But I'm sure you can guess what it was - a yellow line on my neck because the foundation's colour was so far from anything my skin looked like in normal light that even my makeup-ignorant other half could see the problem. It looked terrible, and I was furious because I had spent £39.00 on a product that was completely unusable.Upon returning home, I ordered the 1N0 Porcelain shade, and it was delivered to my home address the next day. I will never purchase anything from the counter at Boots Lancaster again. I strongly advise you to avoid Margaret, the yellow-faced assistant, at all costs.

Pleasantly surprised, a friend and I went shopping in Lancaster the other day and stopped of here to get some make up. Unlike Kendals store it has such a wider range of products, they also offer samples to help decide which foundation best suits you, I usually get Chanel but found now that Much prefer Clinique, so I stocked up ? I will most likely visit here again soon. Helpful staff and easily accessible.
