Nice friendly pub with food. Front of house is a normal pub with a couple of real ales. To the rear is a separate dining area. In summer the views over the Ribble valley must be superb but we were there in late Winter so could only see lights in the distance. The entrance to the car park is on a steep slope and the space between the buildings is a bit tight so take care manoeuvring up the slope when leaving. Staff are attentive and the food good. I had the cheese, onion and potato pie which is made on the premises. I don't normally say too much about food but this was particularly good. When it first comes you might think that the portion looks a little small. It isn't as it's very filling. The pastry is light and not too thick with the filling being a blend of several types of cheese cooked in chunks with sliced potatoes and onion. It was one of the nicest pies I've had for a long time. The others in our group were also pleased with their choices. The steak and ale pie looked really good with plenty of large pieces of steak. A good place to visit.

I would give this place zero marks. My father died and the awful woman would not move my booking and to add insult to injury would not provide me with a VAT receipt, despite me asking three times. Shame on you. You are a disgrace.

My friend and I went to the Dog Inn for lunch today. We booked online but there was enough space for people to come impromptu.I chose a lamb skewer with mint sauce, salad, corn on the cob, fries and coleslaw.My friend chose fish and chips.Both were extremely generous in their portions. If you?re hungry then this is the place to be.The view from the window was of the trough of Bowland as it?s surrounding countryside.I finished off my meal with apple crumble and ice cream which had toffee shards in- extremely tasty and very yummy.Thanks very much to the welcoming staff. We intend to come back.Parking: Parking is through a small passageway to the left hand side of the pub. There?s also plenty of parking on Berry Lane

Stayed here for a few days whilst visiting family - we had a lovely stay :) and whilst there, had a family meal to catch up over christmas. We all received such huge portions, all the food was delicious! We hated leaving bits but most couldnt finish their portions :) only thing was 2 of us received our puddings and was a little while before everyone else received theirs so 2 of us had already cleared our plates as the others received theirs - not the end of the world, we just had some envious family members awaiting theirs :) we also took advantage of the steak night offer - 2 steak meals and a bottle of wine for £40 :) i got to enjoy the fish butty and the landlady was correct, beautiful! Wish id remembered to take a photo! Cant wait to try the food again on our next trip to longridge :)

1st review. It's a really nice place for food. Especially with the company I had. ??????.2md review. Ho no the food was ace last time but this time it was well undercooked. When I asked for a refund I got more under cooked wings thrown at me. So had to put the review on the food side down to 2 stars. Shocking as it was so good last time I was here. ???

It was ok, not sure if my burger had seen an Aberdeen Angus, but the bun looked like it had come from a road side butty van, service was slow, won't be going again.

If I could have rated this pub Zero Stars I would have done. The most unprofessional place we have visited in over 40 years and it?s beyond the realms of possibilities how they have so many positive reviews. The restaurant side of the pub wasn?t overly busy and what we witnessed whilst waiting to be served was truly unprofessional. Staff sat slouched around a table in the restaurant on mobile phones on a food break to a member of staff who thought it was fine to hold a hot plate with the sleeve of his hoodie/jumper. We waited over a hour from our starter and still hadn?t been served our mains, when this was brought to someone?s attention they went to the kitchen to ask. When they returned we was told it was on its way out, and the manageress/owner shouted to other members of staff I?m not going back in the kitchen. The food still hadn?t arrived so we got up to leave and has we were leaving the food came out. Too late. How you think a hours wait for a Sunday roast is acceptable is beyond me to the point It?s laughable especially when they didn?t have that many covers.

Never been before and booked for a lunch whilst on a break in the area. We both ordered burgers and they were lovely - good sized portions and tasty too. The staff were friendly and the bar area certainly filled up whilst we were eating. Nice place - would recommend
