“My wife and I had a two night golf break. Course was very wet and we lost a few balls. But it is that time of year. When we arrived there was a sign asking us to go to the restaurant to book in. No big deal. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent ?. Front of house we were looked after by Ann & Louise. They both were very cheerful and took great pride in their work. A big credit to them both. We will certainly be going back next year.Rooms: Very clean and comfortable .”

“My wife and I decided to stay at Farington Lodge as we were celebrating good friends 70th birthday party close by. The building itself is a beautiful example of 19th-century Georgian architecture and looks recently refreshed. Upon arriving, we were welcomed by three members of staff at the check-in desk, all of whom were extremely friendly and helpful (particularly in the exercise of booking a taxi!). Following check-in we went to our room and were delighted to find a Georgian sized room along with separate bathroom also a generous size. All the usual amenities you would expect were located in the room . We went out to celebrate at the party and returned to the hotel late evening and no problems getting in. In the morning we went down to breakfast and again staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The choice of breakfast was excellent, my wife had smoked haddock and poached eggs and I had a full traditional English. Both of us really enjoyed high quality, well prepared food along with nice hot drinks (coffee for her indoors and a delightful breakfast tea for me). Overall a real gem if you are in the area and we will be back sometime soon. We did have a look at the brochure for Christmas and they seem to have some really good value events going on, so we may partake in that.”

“We were really on the fence about switching from our usual hotel to this one after some of the bad reviews in recent weeks. But it takes more than an innocent spider picture to deter us.Paul was fantastic and looks like he’s impressed others with his customer service as I see he’s been mentioned a lot in these reviews and with good reason. We were welcomed even before we’d approached the desk with a smile and after a wee bit of banter he showed us right to our room. We stayed in an executive king? I think? And it was spotless and comfortable. We both slept very well with no disturbances or discomfort at all. We’ll definitely be staying here again and can recommend it confidently.Well done Marriott Preston! And thank you Paul for your hospitality.”

“Had a fabulous meal here today. We had the lunchtime menu which included the Sunday roast. Portion sizes were extremely generous, food was excellent and staff were lovely. We plan to go back here before we leave. Highly recommend this restaurant.”
