What an absolute horrendous experience! Each time I walk into that awful pharmacy I have to wait for about five minutes before the staff stop their chit chatting and acknowledge I exist. They never have a prescription ready even if it's ordered the previous week. It really is a test of endurance, perseverance, self-discipline, self-control and grinding of teeth just to get through the Ashurst Rowlands Pharmacy experience. Staff, should you reply to this, please say that you will respect the people who keep you in a job and not ignore innocent people.

Annoyed is an understatement! Terrible experience all the time. I work 6 days a week and now the chemist decides to shut at 5pm because of covid! I'm Asthmatic and only finish work at 5! Why does covid give them a reason to shut 1.5 hrs early? If anything it should be open longer! Seen the staff through the window and was ringing desperately for an inhaler..they just ignored my calls. Will be complaining to higher management.

What a joke as a chemist. You wait a long time to be served in the shop. When you need a perscription they never have the item and are of no help at all. The staff like to chat alot while you wait to be seen to. Three months on the run I have had to locate my husband insulin pen needles because they did not have them in stock and never bothered to inform me. Yet again another month when my husbands perscription has not been delivered to our home on time, and no communication from the to let him know.

Called today at 5:20 pm to collect a prescription but shutters half way down. Supposed to shut at 6:00 pm?EDIT: Thank you for your response and the reasons you have provided are understandable especially at this time. As a general comment, it does appear though that the primary care provision in Skelmersdale doesn't lend itself to people that work. To have a pharmacy open from 10 - 5 and closed at lunchtimes doesn't cater for those working. I wonder, once this terrible pandemic has lifted, how the health provision in Ashurst is likely to cope with yet another influx of residents on the new development near St James. Time will tell I suppose.

They might not have every item in stock but they will try to get any required medication. They also text when your prescription is ready.

This used to be great chemist. It had staff who you knew, and staff who knew you. Staff that made you feel valued and cared for you. They have now all but disappeared and this manifests in your every dealing with the new incumbents. It is a veritable car crash of chaos. They can never find anything and even if you're the only person there to collect something be prepared for the wait, you'll be lucky to get it this side of the next century. When they have looked fruitlessly for however long, at snails pace, as they haven't got a hurry in them.. you will then get referred back to the Doctors to clear up the mess after their hopeless ineptitude..go to Boots other chemists are also available!
