Cex Lincoln manager is absolutely rude and very disgusting to customers. Went back with a faulty Xbox x that won?t turn on via the power switch or disc eject. The console only turns on via the controller so it?s an inside fault, it was brought less than 2 months ago with 2 year warranty from the Grantham store, went to Lincoln as it?s my closest store, No refund or replacement. Grantham and Lincoln covering their backs by lying! the Lincoln store manager lies to say there?s a rattle which there never was and isn?t, and the disc tray is bent, it?s not, they just don?t want to replace their own faulty goods. I was told it wouldn?t be sold in that condition however it was, it was sold with surface scratches already on and no hdmi lead because I had to buy my own for it! Avoid this company, if you look at reviews they are known for this, and they are known for giving out warranty and not keeping their end of the bargain! I?m now 400 down on a faulty item! The manager was very rude and instead of listening to what I was sold kept telling me it was my fault! How can it be when it?s been sat solely on a desk all it?s time I?ve had it! They hadn?t even opened it to see anything wrong inside just kept telling me they won?t do anything. Their warranty means nothing because they will lie to blame the customer! And they know they do wrong because the same manager even pulled up her employee right in front of customers before I left my Xbox with them for an hour. The employee had taken in an item from someone else without checking it and put the wrong colour down!

Fair trade prices and very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of games/dvds/tech to choose from too.

I wanted some simple questions answered so I wouldn't waste a journey going into town to the shop just to be told you wouldn't buy my items. Website wasn't helpful, couldn't really find a relevant subject heading for the email but they just ignored it anyway, tried messaging via social media and they ignored that message too. Complete waste of my time and very unhelpful.

I was sold a faulty graphics card at Lincoln CEX. I had travelled 20 miles away to buy it. When I took it home, the graphics card did not work. This was confirmed when I brought it back to the store for testing. They gave me a refund that day, but can only give this place 3 stars because the item should have been tested (simply stick it in a computer) before putting it out for sale. I won't make the mistake of buying second hand computer hardware from CEX again on the grounds that they don't always test the hardware. This does make CEX easy targets for anyone wanting to offload faulty hardware to them, not all employees are experienced with computer hardware so may naturally just stick an item on a shelf for sale without checks. CEX needs to consider store policy changes here to protect themselves and customers like me. Lincoln CEX had friendly staff and helped to issue a refund.

Called in the morning to realise their number isn?t actually a number but more of a voice message telling you to go online , wanted to ask if I could get a fix on my ps5,no worries , I?ll go to the store , Went in there to fix a simple ps5 issue , (hdmi port break) which, if you have a ps5 , will know is a very common fault , a year into my 24 month warranty , first colleague told me it is a common issue and after some tests they will replace or repair it in store that day which I was impressed with , came back at the appointed time , colleague was no where to be found , explained the situation to the next guy serving the tills , he told me they refused to repair or replace it though I?ve 12 months left on my warranty bc it is an ?external issue and not a hardware fault ? apparently the hdmi port is not connected to the rest of the ps5 , even though it is interlaced with the rest of the motherboard, but to him it?s nothing to do with them and told me they won?t do anything to help . What?s the point of a warranty if there are so many terms and conditions that it?s effectively useless? Instead I went to tech emporium and they fixed it for me quickly and relatively cheaply , won?t be buying anything from cex again since their one selling point is their warranty and that simply wasn?t the case. Again, would?ve saved my time if they had a working phone number , but what can you expect from a company that is built on lowballing sellers and reselling the same items at a 200% increase?

Total scam, a tester decides because my PS3 console didn't eject games fully enough or once. They failed it and told me they wouldn't buy it yet it works ?. Silly tester and staff screw this one I'm going other cexs instead

Great shop for selling old and unwanted electronic items for either cash or CEX vouchers ( you get more per item) .

After Gotham games closed this has become the only good place to buy used games in Lincoln, I recently bought a PS3 wanting to play some older generation games and I quite enjoy going through the shelves and picking out cool games for usually very cheap. They have games for most consoles from Xbox 360 to PS2 to PS5 so lots of choice. Trading in isn't always the best deal as they price higher than they buy but it is a business so they have to make money. I recently brought in a load of games and traded for store credit which I think it's the better deal as i got about £37 instead of £29 cash to spend and since there's alot of choice for games at cex I didn't mind just spending it at there shop as it was money I would of spent on games anyway. A great place to drop by if you're in town.

Check any product you want, as sometimes their prices are higher than outher places. Also, with mobile phones, ect, they definatly need to be checked before you buy them, as they ask a top premium price for the items, but some of them have badly scratched screens, chips on the case, ect, & if your paying top money, you don't want damaged items.A chipped, badly scratched, or damaged screen can be replaced, but unfortunatly, can be quite expensive, & more than the value of the item.I recently broke the screen on my Samsung Note 9, & there was things on the phone I needed, but a new screen cost me £240, & a replacement S-pen cost me £30, so you also have to think about any costs for repairs.I've had a few things from them that didn't work, & one item, a few years ago, took weeks of hassle, contacting the head office, ect, to get a refund, but the second item, a mobile phone, was eventually replaced the next day after grief. Not long ago, they were selling agopro hero 4, but it was in the wrong waterproof case.Despite enquiring why it was in a wrong case, it was ignored, & after making a complaint to the head office, they still tried to sell the item in a waterproof case that was to big for the item, & as it was in the wrong case, it wouldn't of worked.AS SUCH, CHECK ANY ITEM YOU MAY WANT TO BUY, TO MAKE SURE IT IS ALL CORRECT & WORKING.They also treat a lot of people as if they are thieves, so if anyone gets that attitude, then don't but from them, go somewhere else.Lastly, people need to be very careful about selling dads, games, ect, to them, as they offer stupid prices, like 1p or 3p for an item, even when some are brand new.My advice with games, dvds, ect, is to sell them on ebay or somewhere similar, as you will get more money that way.

Dreadful.I'd avoided CeX for several years, but having seen a phone I liked in the window, thought I'd give them another try.?Went inside and asked how much they'd give for my limited edition Samsung phone (worth significantly more than the standard version) and they said they wouldn't buy it at all as it's "not on their system".Cash Converters offered £320 and it goes for £450+ on eBay. Unfortunately, Cash Converters didn't have a phone I wanted.Their business approach is obvious. Everything is dictated by some central place, who think they are experts at product values, but very clearly aren't.The young woman who served me was very pleasant, but ultimately CeX is a waste of time.Won't be back for another few years, if ever; eBay, Amazon and Cash Converters it is!?Edit: That awful response proves my points further. They didn't "check" with anyone, either. ?

Bought phone with scratches and marks, after 3 months the phone stopped working, when i went to store with guarantee on the phone, they denied to accept my guarantee because it had too much scratches on it. Let me remind you that my phone was used and before i even bought it, it had scratches on it. Ridiculous!

Went into the Lincoln branch today (Sunday) and had a lovely experience. We took various items in and was served by a lovely lady (can?t remember name but had blonde hair on one side and black on the other!) she was really lovely and spoke to us and had a laugh, as I and my partner were fairly new to the process she made everything clear and our items were tested within the hour! It was very busy but I never felt rushed by her, I overheard other conversations by other staff members and all of them seemed of the same attitude, all round fantastic customer service and a great store I will be back very soon!
