Use this post office every week mostly for sending parcels. Always a great friendly service from the ladies, never have to wait long . First choice for foreign currency.

Only items received by 2:30pm go the same day, in contrast to the Brackenborough Road Post Office, where the cut-off is 4:40pm.This is utterly ridiculous.

There are four staff and one is a pain at times.It's a massive shame, because the other staff are normally good. One of the staff is excellent.The problem is that you can't choose who serves you. I therefore avoid this Post Office where possible.The opening hours (3.30pm close on weekdays, 1pm on Saturdays) are disappointing for a town's main Post Office. I'm surprised the Post Office doesn't require them to open until 5pm, Monday to Friday with maybe a shorter day on Saturday.

Being new to the area and reading the reviews I didn't know what to expect of the Louth Post Office. I was pleasantly surprised to find a proper establishment (not one shoved in the back of a shop) with a full staff - and even forms and other services which we used to expect in days passed. Having been assisted over the past fortnight by 4 different staff members, I find the experience to be mostly positive. Three were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - and most efficient.The one exception is a woman who seems to be pained to serve the public, struggles to engage with the customer and, in my case, has erred on the side of charging me more whenever possible. While I appreciate this facility when so many services are being cut to the bone, I will endeavour to be assisted by other staff members in the future who are helpful, knowledgeable and most pleasant. One bad apple, as they say ...
