The Centurion on Newark Road, Lincoln is a great place for lunch. Make sure you book a table or you may be disappointed. Tried to book a couple of weeks ago and no table available all day for day we wanted to lunch out. However, early booking meant we managed to get a table this week and we weren't disappointed. Easy parking, Good menu and service. Prices as expected. Friendly atmosphere.

Lunch with friends, excellent pint of Red Giant (or two) for me, one had fish, one had scampi and one had lentil and squash soup all pronounced good and I had an excellent halloumi, portobello mushroom and red pepper stack, a decent lunch all round

Sadly will be avoiding for food in the future. The salad on the burger looked like it had seen better days, the customer service was very poor and still waiting for some of our order. Understand that you get what you pay for and I?m glad it was half price, but I?m sure anyone could have made a better meal at home sadly.

I am sat in the Centurion at the moment and ordered the Rump Steak. The Steak was all gristle I could only cut one very small piece off with the steak knife. When I told the server she said ?well that?s what they send us I will pass the message on?. There was no offer to rectify the issue and she just walked away. Avoid!!!the food is not worth it and the service is poor. Only as we were leaving were we offered a complimentary dessert but as my meal had been spoiled we declined and left.

Very impressed with the Sunday roast dinner this evening, the roast gammon, big plate full of veggies potatoes and meat was superb. The vegetarian option, the wellington was tasty and filling, and the burger as usual perfect. The drinks, were lovely, the venue just right for family and staff courteous, and friendly we will be back for Sunday dinner !

We went with a group of friends who had a discount voucher . Some of the meals are better than others. The mixed grill was good but 2 out of the 3 steaks were grisly and tough. My chips and veg were good apart from the hard peas. The waiter never checked our meals were ok and neither did the person collecting the food. The pub has a nice feel to it and the staff are friendly but the food does need some improvement.

Usually go there regularly and have a starter. This time embarked on a main meal being steak x2 and a pasta dish (Veg). Very disappointed, the 8oz steak was 4oz fat and gristle (both) and the pasta veggie was tasteless and seemed like the vegetables were from a can- well didn't taste of anything. Yes, very disappointed and complained / spoke with the staff who shrugged it off. Drinks fine but not willing to spend on food.

Absolutely amazing restaurant, lovely food, nice old school pub ambience. The prices are a little higher than the other family pubs in the area but the quality is great. Never had a bad meal here and we have been here through the year. Solid 5 star

Came here for lunch recently we are local but the last meal we had here a while ago wasn?t the best but thought we?d give it another try wish I?d never bothered again They are obviously short staffed again waited 40 minutes and when finally received was only just lukewarm and not of great quality either Won?t bother again it was rank

Very good, very reasonably priced and lovely coffee (Americano). Was going to have Full English but too big for us so opted for scrambled eggs on toast with bacon. Smaller version of Full English would be good most places offer it. Will definitely go again.

Visited for birthday cocktails. I would say that for the price I was very underwhelmed by the cocktails. Please liven them up a bit more. I couldn?t taste much alcohol at all and it was just like a drink of squash. Poorly presented. Not really what I expected for the price.

Visit the Centurion on many occasions and always busy . Like to take advantage of O2 Priority promotion on a Thursday and why not? Only thing is that it?s very very popular and bar staff are overwhelmed at the 5pm start time of said promotion. No problem I will use the Ember Inn app that I normally use to order my drinks anyway. Only problem is for the for the last two weeks AFTER the Ember Inn app has excepted the O2 promotional code the app goes blank at the order process stage . Nothing ?.. but a white screen . If you reset the order the Ember Inn app will say the code has already been used ??? Some may say that I?ve been unlucky two weeks ruining but my friend also had same happen on his phone on the Ember Inn app . So come on Ember Inns up your game and don?t pile more pressure on your poor bar staff that can say nothing more than the promotion is nothing to do with us ?.true but it?s not the O2 promotion /app that?s at fault but your app . SORT YOUR APP OUT EMBER INNS OR STOP OFFERING A PROMOTION THE APP CANT PROCESS??.SHARP PRACTICE SOME MAY SAY .

Shocking!! Ordered a BLT,bacon well done,twice it got sent back to the kitchen and still the bacon wasn?t well done,by this point my partner had nearly finished his dinner so left and asked for a refund on my meal. If a chef can?t get the basics right then they maybe shouldn?t be doing the job. I will not be returning!!

Oh dear? I?ve been here several times for food but this Saturday evening was incredibly poor. We sat outside and both ordered a starter of beer battered mushrooms. The mushrooms came in a small bowl with a portion of sour cream. The batter was thick and overly crispy causing the mushrooms to shrivel away to not very much inside. There wasn?t even a token green garnish. Totally devoid of flavour and unpleasant in the mouth. For mains we ordered two rump steaks, both rare. My girlfriends came as requested. Mine was well done. No steak knives in sight. It was tough, poor quality and accompanied with very cheap looking end of bag supermarket frozen chips. Half an uncooked tomato, spoonful of frozen peas and a meagre mushroom full of water accompanied it. The onion rings were the best but and they were nothing special, again shop bought. The usual 2 courses for £11 offer didn?t apply on Saturday, so instead of £22, we paid £38. Nobody asked if our food was ok at any time so no option to say otherwise. I?ll likely eat here again for convenience but I?ll pick something cheap that can?t be as messed up. Not impressed.
