Very expensive, very rude staff eager to get you out so they can jump back on the phone, don't wear masks, or just pull there jumper up over their face when you walk in. The only good thing is the strange selection of alcohol you can get, but it's very expensive compared to any other shop. If I could give 0 stars I would.

***Disability discrimination alert***!!!! My mother Was refused entry to this restaurant tonight due to her being on a mobility scooter. The door man was rude, cruel, discriminative and laughed as he refused entry. I am reporting this bar, and the doorman/doormen, to the government and to the Disability Discrimination Dept.

The Red Lion is one of two (Count 'em: 2!) Cask Marque pubs in all of Skegness, which should give you a hint that it is not a real-ale town. There is a not a single really good pub in this place, and - on paper - The Red Lion, which you'll find diagonally across from the train station, should be your best option. And it normally is: It's a Spoon, and the Spoons are normally considered a solid option for real-ale lovers. Not in this case. The pint I had had gone bad, oxidized. That really shouldn't happen: Obviously, the cask had been kept for too long (normally, a cask has to be finished within 3 days, or else you'll run a risk that the beer goes bad). Bummer!

The food in this pub is excellent value for money, the chicken tikka masala is one of the best I've ever tasted. I also found the drinks to be good value.

A good pub with a varied choice of cask ales, service was quick and the beers were well looked after. One of the better Wetherspoons.

totally agree with other reviewers, it is probably the worst weatherspoons I've been in. Food is patchy at best, last meal we had there I actually had a warm salad, the lettuce was almost hot and tomato's were cooked, obviously left under hot lamps. A major gripe I have is being completely ignored at the bar by staff so they can serve locals first, in fact it became a running joke at one point one member of staff saw me waiting then saw a local coming in the door and actually stood waiting for him to come to the bar and served him before me. so I suggest if you have a group all stand at bar to make sure one of you gets served.

I agree with the other review. Its not the best pub in skegness it a bit out of the way from most main attractions so doesn't really pull in the tourist aspect of the town. The foods not bad however we have had a few dodgy meals from time to time. Its mostly used as a meeting point on a fri/sat night out on the town so gets really busy but that would be all i would use it for really, a quick drink!

This pub is a cheap Wetherspoons pub, but not the cleanest of placest. It's a real locals pub, which is a shame because a seaside town like Skegness needs a decent Wetherspoons - maybe it would be different if it were on the seafront instead of up by the train station? I have eaten there once and to be honest, the food was ok, but knowing what I do now about their hygeine I wouldn't eat there again!
