Although this is a large & well stocked store, trying to find anyone to ask about their stock is a nightmare With just 1 busy colleague serving several customers, I was left to search high & low before I found 1 single other. Whether there were people out back is irrelevant, leaving 1 person to service both the whole store & the Garden Centre really isn't good enough. Having said that, when eventually found, the guy was very helpful even though they didn't actually have what I wanted which was a large garden incinerator. So 5/5 for personal service but 3/5 for customer attention. 4/5 average.

I really miss HomeBase but like they say it is what it is. At B&Q Spalding you'll definitely find kind and polite staff as well as things you may need to carry on repairs, improvements and so on.

Sadly B&Q at Spalding have gone over to the ?we?d prefer you to serve yourself at the till? style of shopping, when arriving at the checkout you are met by a member of staff who will then politely ask you ?CARD OR CASH? I said card it was then suggested I go diy at the till. I explained that I was ?old school? even perhaps ancient, that I preferred customer service. She then said I will show you how to use the self servicecheck out. I again explained I was old fashioned and that should I and everyone else use the self service check out. Would she and her colleagues be out of a job? Another customer joined in and said it wasn?t the shop assistants fault it?s her managers . I replied of course it wasn?t but why would they give the customer the choice if not to save on staff! Their prices will not reduce because they have reduced staff. So no thank you I will ask to be served. When I did get served and paid by card. I then remembered I have a B&Q loyalty card. ?TOO LATE? the check out lady said. As if to back up her colleague who requested I use the self service check out in the first place. It did occur to me that instead of this member of staff interrogating customers with ?CARD OR CASH? questions she could actually be serving customers. Novel idea I guess that perhaps one day a shop may use.Needless to say B&Q SPALDING will be the last shop I would ever choose to go to. All because of the staff?s attitude towards customers.

They told me yesterday they had plenty of the fence sprayers that I wanted done a 30 mile round trip to fetch one this morning and surprise surprise they don't have them in store you have to order them the thing is I rang Spalding branch before I left never again

Bought a pack of 2 high security padlocks (£26 ) , to get to them I had to wreck the packaging , found out that they were too big for what I wanted them for . Took them back for a refund and was told by a manager (Anne I think her name is) that they can't refund me because the packaging made it unsellable . When I asked " what am I supposed to do with them as they are useless to me"" all I got was a shrug and got told again they will not be able to sell the item , So much for customer service !!!!!! fortunately it is not the only DIY store local so it seems like Screwfix all the way !!!!
