It?s our second time of eating here and for the second time it didn?t disappoint. I just have to echo most of the reviews here and say everything was perfect. The service was excellent not over bearing but extremely attentive. The food came out in a reasonable time even though it was very busy. The food itself was delicious and we had more or less four empty plates. They do smaller portions for the smaller appetites too which is excellent. The price was also very reasonable too.Well done to The Marrowbone and Cleaver, we will be back soon.

What an excellent pub for a lunch time meal. Had a table for five as we were meeting friends there and the place was quite busy for a Wednesday. Food portions are generous and there is plenty of choice. Too full for a desert!

Gotta tru the chopper from Bateman brewing. The spiced cauliflower soup was good. The yorkshire pudding with steak and ale is very very good! Gott stop by and check this place out if you are anywhere close by.

Won't return in a hurry. 5 off us had a ride over. While discussing within our party if there was enough room for us to sit down together, quite a rude fella at the bar told us in a very abrupt mannor "tables were reserved for people eating' that was actually our intention which I told him but he just tutted - no offer to find us a table - just directed us to the bar where no chairs were available for anybody to sit and food was not served. His manner was such we no longer felt welcome so took our drinks outside and left as soon as they were finished.Found alternative food and drinks locally elsewhere.

Stayed overnight in our motorhome. Sunday lunch and drinks. Then a couple of drinks in the evening. Massive portions, didn't need any further food. Fabulous place with great staff, food and beer.

16/01/2024.11.30am. mid day. As a independent wheelchair user I found this place great!, great parking, observant staff!, as I was transferring from my car to my wheelchair the man from behind the bar opened the large conservatory door for me and asked if I wanted any help, I said I was OK and he waited until I got through the door, my table was booked for 12 but I arrived at 11.30, he said the kitchen does not start till 12, which I was happy with, I asked for a coffee which was good and strong and came with a 2cm cube of brownie, which was nice, (£3.50), there's plenty to look at while your there and the real coal fires make the place warm and cosy, the female member off staff was very attentive and helpfull, when the breakfast came it was large!(£11.50) the sausages were thick and big and the bacon thick cut with very little fat, the sausages were the best I have ever had!, but you can only get them there, everything was very well cooked even the tomato was just lightly grilled and not a squashy mess like other places, this place is well worth a visit, some of the hot baguette sandwiches I saw coming out were big.well done!.
