We went there for Sunday lunch and were impressed with both the high quality food and size of portion. The staff were all very courteous. We would definitely recommend this pub.

Been a few times recently and I must say the service, food choice , value for money is all exceptional ...the staff are all really friendly and helpful and the light bite menu is outstanding for the price. Highly recommend thank you

Called in to the wheel teatime, food and drink as always spot on, the only discord the phone constantly rang the whole time we were eating..and in around one hour I did not see any member of the staff answer ( I rang 4 times Fri before I could book ) the restaurant had less than twenty people in it the staff hardly busy ... Get a grip answer the phone ... don't you want. The custom...if is the tail wagging the dog

Stopped by fancying a Sunday roast. So often pub roasts let you down - meat too fatty, not enough vegetables, frozen Aunt Bessie's but not here! Went for the beef which came in 3 good slices and excellently cooked. 4 roast potatoes/cauli/mash/carrots/broccoli and cabbage topped with o fantastic, huge Yorkshire Pudding. Washed down with a cold Guinness. What's not to like? Not local so probably won't pass again but would do for Sunday lunch if in the area. Well done!

Well I can only say 2 thing's one is positive and two is not 1. Food was amazing I had the wheel burger it was amazing. So tasty thoroughly enjoyed it Price £17 bit high really 2. Drink I had a madri at £5.50. So expensive had a few sips and politely asked for a dash of lemonade to my shock and horror they charged me another £1.60 making my drink cost £7.10 for a lager dash. Wow just wow . Side note the staff are polite and helpful but did state I quote .. (I don't make the prices up ..) Overall 2 stars and no return visit .as I feel like I've been robbed ..

Always wonderful food, service efficient and friendly. Lovely ambience as always. Food is always well presented and cooked well. Choices are excellent.. We eat here on a regular basis and never disappoints.

Popped in for a delicious lunch veg lasagna and fish pie with salad. Excellent with choice of size. Small perfect for me as at 78 with a poor stomach it was great good service pleasant staff

There were six of us having lunch at yours Sunday afternoon on the 28th. First of all, thanks for having vegan options which is very much appreciated (coming from someone who was vegan long before it was trendy). I was, however, rather disappointed with paying as much as £17 for the curry. As tasty as it was, I received a portion of what I estimated to be about half a small sweet potato, half a pepper and three leaves of spinach in a sauce, served with a small dome of rice. I estimate the plate tallied up to about 350 kcal. My partner (vegetarian) opted for the nut roast which came served with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, cabbage, and a yorkshire pudding, probably twice as filling as mine (I guestimate 700 kcal) for £3 less. Could I suggest bulking up the curry with something as inexpensive as chickpeas to make it more substantial, and maybe serve it with a slaw/salad or a naan bread on the side? Otherwise the rest of the company were very satisfied with their meals, and the service was friendly and pleasant, so please take this in the spirit it was meant. Above was sent directly to manager on May 30, sadly no response received as per June 28.

My wife and I called in to this pub whilst we were passing through on May bank holiday weekend 2023. We ordered 2 dishes. Firstly I will give the positives: polite, friendly staff, lovely decor, lovely clean pub, nice hot food. So, nothing to complain about then? Yes! Crazy prices on some items. We understand that in these times costs of goods are rising as are energy charges etc put to charge us £5 for a mixed salad out of a packet is nothing short of ridiculous. It's not as if the chef made it. Somebody has literally opened up a pack of salad (worth about £1) and pulled out a small portion, put it on a plate, and charged £5 for the pleasure. No! It's not on. The rest of the meals we had were OK but one can't help feeling a little ripped off at that Salad!

After a long day's drive to North Wales and back we were hungry and tired. Stumbled across this place after making a wrong turn and I am so glad we did. We had an absolutely delicious meal. I had gammon which literally filled the plate, juicy and thick. My friend had the steak pie which was huge, beautiful shortcrust pastry and thick chunks of meat. We will be visiting again

We had a nice family meal here. Pleasant and prompt service, good variety of drinks and a good food menu to choose from. Food when it came was decent but not amazing. Bit too cold in the place overall.

Had a little ride out to this semi rural pub at the beginning of April. Great atmosphere, lovely food and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Dress was smart casual and there was a relaxed but chatty atmosphere.

What a lovely place. The staff are so friendly and polite. More than that, the girls out front of house don't stop. They work so hard so be nice to them. The food here is lovely. Portion sizes are really good as is the presentation. Warm friendly atmosphere with great food and drinks await you at the wheel. Give it a spin(pardon the Pun), you'll not be disappointed.
