I enjoy shopping here, moreso than other DIY stores, but I get a feeling it won't be around forever. The range here is limited but staff are always very helpful.

Sells enough products in the one store for you to be able to gut, repair, renovate, rebuild, and decorate most areas of your home and garden.
From screws to paint to kitchens to cement to guttering to power tools to wood...the list goes on and on.
They have a lot of own brand tools as well as the likes of Dulux, Stanley, De Walt etc.
On price, generally they are better or the same as other DIY retailers but it's always worth checking if they have what you want or if it's cheaper elsewhere.
Main competitors are : B&Q, Homebase, Screwfix, and Toolstation but for the larger specialist products try Jewsons, Dr Beers, and Travis Perkins.
Wickes gets quite busy on Bank Holiday weekends but I've never walked away because it was so bad.

We go here over the likes of b&q because it's alot more reasonably priced. Good selection and decent staff

I like Wickes as it tends to have helpfull traditional stuff you expect to find in a DIY shop that B&Q don't. B&Q seem to be more into curtains and cushions these days.
