I first went to this library as a small child in the 60's. I moved back to the area after 35 years away, the library smelt exactly the same. I go into it just for a blast from my childhood.

Charged me £1.10 for an extra 3 minutes of computer time despite me being the only person at the computers and no one waiting. Wasn't even for leisure, I was filling out forms for a new job.Very disappointed.

I found this library very pleasant. :) They've done a wonderful job of using their space well and packing in a good selection of books. The history and travel sections are particularly good. They also have a good sized computer lab so you can check your email or get some research done. The only area I would say they could really use some work on is the children's section--there are only two very small shelves of children's books and the shelves are not full.
