We've had 2 family parties here in the past 5 months and have now become regulars. Guests all commented on what a great venue this is. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere and staff are all great and everything is very reasonably priced.

It?s quite a cozy cafe with clean and decent interiors. Ordered a Mocha and a Brie & Cranberry panini which was totally worth the spend. The Mocha was a perfect balance between sweet and bitter, and just hot enough to enjoy sipping. Service was quite quick, and customer satisfaction wasn?t compromised at all. Absolutely loved the thoughtfulness behind serving a side of salted nachos acting as a palate-cleanser, just so the panini and mocha don?t ruin the experience. Would 110% recommend!

Love this venue! The staff are always so nice to me, make me feel very welcome and they serve delicious Hot Chocolate with a JD Gentleman on the side !! ... the Wednesday evening open mic is such a cool vibe with the host Bert being one of the nicest i've come across - and he's starting to give Conversational French lessons on a Wednesday early evening too ... will continue to travel to this venue for the vibes and general niceness of it all. Cheers All.

I'm doing a Postgraduate Pathway, at the nearby Liverpool John Moores University Faculty of Health, and found this little, "Nuggett", purely by chance. It's inconspicuous in its Location, but wow, what an absolute hidden Gem. Love its Funky Decor and Background Music. It's a Cafe AND Bar which puts on Live Gigs, and has Open Mic and Open Vinyl Nights. Staff are brilliant, as is the Customer Service. Great Selection of competitively priced Food and Drink, and the Egg, Bacon, and Sausage Sandwich is amazing. Cannot recommend Hemmingways highly enough. See you in the New Year.

As my title would suggest, like the great author Hemingway, this delightful medium size café come evening bar, is both understated and packs a punch. I visit Liverpool regularly on business, and need to eat out for breakfast. Since the pandemic most of the cafe's don't open until 08.00hrs at the earliest, but Hemingway's is open from 07.30hrs, perfect for my office hours. This is definitely a UK rather than Euro style breakfast option, but absolutely not a greasy spoon. More funky blues bar. The coffee is excellent, and the fried egg and bacon toasted sandwich (£4.95), was everything it should be.. Real fresh, doorstep bread, thick tasty bacon, and a fresh tasting runny egg. (Note to self, ask for the egg a little harder next time). With a large glass of carton OJ this all came to £8.95. There are wraps available, yoghurt and granola, jumbo cook breakfast, or pick and choose. No sign of fresh pastry's, but to be fair I forgot to ask for a definitive answer. Service was quick and cheerful, I was first through the door at 07.30hrs, and they were good to go. No faffing around while the hot plate warmed up etc. I shall be returning soon, as this is a great find.
