“We had been into a local Tui shop and come home and spent hours looking for a 2 week criuse this Feduary .Not a lot of options really for us at that time of year its round the caneries or across to Mexico etc for what we want to pay.My wife said lets go to Barrhead travel in Allerton Road they look at a lot more opperators and might have more choose for us .We seen a lady called Elaine. Elaine that first of all spent time listening to what we hope to get on our criuse, likes and dislikes etc.We are well used to going on criuse and must have been on round 25 or so over the years but I was surprised with Elaine's first suggestion of a p&o brand new ship going round the Bahamas.Ticked all the boxers for us ,deck 5, balcony ,3 people full board, £320 on board spends , good flight times .Job done ha .cost 6k for the three of us 2 weeks .Elaine helped sort the disability stuff also for my son by making a call or two which on a Saturday was we feel good of her .All the staff seemed friendly so this is a small thanks to Elaine for being good at you job and for looking after us while we where there with coffee etc .Next time we will of course check the internet but we will then pop in and say right let's see what you can do . Thanks Martin .”

“Great little shop where you end up buying far more things than you actually needed but saving a fortune. Lots of branded items that are cheaper than the main supermarkets. Well worth a visit for your household essentials.”

“I love Home Bargains as a store full stop, but this particular branch is very good. The staff who work there are great, always completely willing to help out when you need a hand, such as to get a product off the top shelf that you can't reach. Also, the range of products on sale are both fantastic, and at a great price too, both those sold year round e.g. washing up liquid, and seasonal stuff, such as special chocolates for valentine's day, Christmas and Easter. Like with any other branch of Home Bargains, the only problem with it, is that it's one of the worst shops to go into when you only need a few bits and pieces, and you then end up coming out with a lot more due to the great deals. If I had a million pounds every day of my life to spend however I wanted, I would still shop here.”

“I always find Home Bargains to be a pleasant shopping experience. A great variety of goods, including seasonal, but always well organised and well laid out, but at fantastic prices! Also no quibble exchanging anything faulty. Love it!”

“I love Home Bargains as a store full stop. The staff who work there are great, always completely willing to help out whenever you need a hand, such as to get a product off the top shelf that you can't reach. At one point I was in this store back during the lock down with my mum, and one of the male cashiers was especially good with us both. He allowed us to move 2 packs of loo roll we were getting to by the side of the till, so that more products could come through, meaning packing them was easier for us. He also at one point got up from his seat, opened up the next cashier till and pulled the cashier chair out, so that my mum could sit down. This was a real help to her, because her back was hurting, because she has fibromyalgia. It also helped me a lot, since I had difficulty understanding the social distancing at the time, because I'm on the autistic spectrum. I later sent an e-mail passing on a message of thanks, and I received one back, thanking me for the message, and explaining that staff receive bonuses for outstanding customer care (which in my mind, he 100% fully deserved). Also, the range of products on sale are both fantastic, and at a great price too, both those sold year round e.g. washing up liquid, and seasonal stuff, such as special chocolates for valentine's day, Christmas and Easter. There are 2 issues with this branch though. Since the entrance is right in the middle of the block in the road, access can be difficult. (Since the branch is literally just around the corner from the GP surgery that my family goes to, I usually only go there after I've either had a medical appointment, or after I've needed to put a prescription request though.) Whenever my mum and I go in she always has to park a little way away, and then we walk up. Also, like with any other branch of Home Bargains, it's one of the worst shops to go into when you only need a few bits and pieces, and you then end up coming out with a lot more due to the great deals. If I had a million pounds every day of my life to spend however I wanted, I would still shop here.”

“I love this branch. Always extremely clean, tidy with lots of room in the aisles. Shelves are always full, neat and displayed really well. Overall appearance of this store is 100% - every single time. Helpful staff whenever I've needed to ask for assistance I've always got it immediately. There's a lady on the til, wears glasses, longish hair - wish I knew her name because she's FABULOUS. Always pleasant, even when she was suffering from a bad back one time, she was still smiling and joking with me. Can't think of anything negative to say only really positive things always. Best one in the city!!”

“A discount retailer with plenty of bargain's. Even though I no longer need to seek out bargains, I still visit this place because the selection available here is second to none. Your 'Steve's' and 'Tracey's' can usually be round in the isles here before visiting the post office downstairs to cash in their giros.”

“they sell pretty good food for insanely low prices. Despite the "reputation", I'd recommend this place. One issue I had is that the aisles are pretty messy, but to be fair there are probably hundreds of people coming through every hour so it must be difficult to maintain.”

“The best place to buy beer in South Liverpool. Wide range of Belgian, German, fruit beer and IPAs, at a reasonable price. Though I don't like IPAs. They all taste like mango.”

“Would be 5 star if the staff weren't so lazy and so eager to lose their jobs to robots. 3 of the staff trying to push me onto the self serve and huffed and rolled her eyes when I preferred to use a human.”

4.2Good41 Reviews

“Still cheaper than the big chains. Some great bargains in tools. If I had a criticism, it would be that the products can get a bit jumbled up by careless customers making it difficult to see what you want.”
