Lonely afternoon

The hotel does have a nice Beatles vibe to it. But we encountered some problems. One - the rooms on the front of the hotel, which we had, the noise from the bars and pubs in really LOUD. Bring earplugs. Had rooms with two beds in the room - when pushed together they make the Queen/King beds but when they take them apart they become two twin beds - which would have been fine, but they are about 5 inches apart! Quite unacceptable, and the staff stated this was normal. We asked for them to move the beds further apart and we finally took it upon ourselves to rearrange the room and put the end tables between the beds. We arrived early and waited for the 3 o'clock check in time and of the six rooms only half were ready by 3 and some were not ready way past 4:00pm! Staff at the hotel I found to be not very friendly on check-in and in the few days we were there we figured out who was helpful and who wasn't. We did have some other issues and management did step in and help us with those problems. It is in the center of Beatle Mania, but ask for rooms that are soundproof!

A fun concept with serious deficiencies. Our room was very uncomfortable. Windows wouldn't open, and A/C was inadequate. It was suffocating. Staff was unable or unwilling to help. Also, restaurant had limited hours and menu choices. Wi-Fi was spotty at best. And a daily "Happy Hour" in the lounge turned out to be just half-priced beer. I cannot recommend this place.

Comprehensive menu, great service and outdoor eating area. We enjoyed a burger and soup of the day, pea and mint. Good coffee too.

A great location for those doing a Beatles tour in Liverpool. Around the corner from the Cavern Club. Great photos throughout the hotel. Bed comfortable and pillows good. Most of the staff was very friendly. Negatives: very noisy location at night, bars nearby have live music until 2 am. Bring your earplugs! The carpeting had been pulled up in one corner of the room, and never repaired. The "balcony" wasn't a private balcony, it was an open walkway accessible by all the guests on our floor. Overall, though, we were glad we stayed there for the experience. Beatles 4ever!

If you love The Beatles, of course you have to stay here. It is an awesome experience. Memorabilia everywhere. Very nice hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean. My only complaints and they aren't even that big of a deal are, the bathroom is dimly lit and the mirror is behind the sink so you can't really get a good close look at yourself when doing make up. The only other mirror is outside the bathroom in the entryway. Again, dimly lit. The other thing was no outlets in the bathroom. This may be a British thing as we've noticed it in other hotels in London. There is one for a shaver (if you're American, you will need an adapter) but no where to plug in my hair dryer or flat iron. (Like I said, not a big deal, just kind of inconvenient). And no mirrors by any outlets, so just used my reflection in the tv. It worked good enough. Haha. Another thing that some people may be bothered by is the loud music on Mathew St. that is played until 3 a.m. but it's just part of the atmosphere, so we didn't mind. Rooms on the other side of the hotel may be quieter. Overall, despite any bad reviews, Beatle lovers need to stay here. It's really a lot of fun. But next time, I will bring a handheld mirror.
