Branch counter staff are thankfully spared from having to interact with customers thanks to a snotty woman who's sole job is to physically block the queue and instruct you to use the automated machine for any and all transactions. This branch has zero purpose.

As other people have wrote / reived this sad excuse for a Bank branch - closed by 3pm so most / working people cannot use it - and when the ALWAYS SHORT-STAFFED place is open - THE COUNTER STAFF ARE RUDE, OVERBEARING, HAVE THE IDEA THEY CAN ORDER CUSTOMERS AROUND AND TREAT DISABLED PENSIONERS WITH CONTEMPT .... I AM AN DISABLED OAP WHO IS PARTIALLY SIGHTED WITH HEARING PROBLEMS [DEAFNESS], AND WHEN I TOLD THE CASHIER THAT: "I CAN NOT USE THE MACHINE TO PAY MONEY IN AS I CAN NOT SEE: THE WRITING / HOW TO USE IT"; "SHE INSISTED" ON COMING FROM BEHIND THE COUNTER [INSTEAD OF JUST PAYING THE MONEY IN HERSELF TO THE TILL RIGHT INFRONT OF HER] AND SHOWING ME HOW TO USE THE MACHINE --- EVEN THOUGH I COULD NOT SEE WHAT WAS ON THE MACHINES SCREEN - OR - HEAR THE INSTRUCTIONS SHE INSISTED ON GIVING ME --- ANOTHER CUSTOMER LEAVING THE BANK AND SEEING MY PLIGHT [THAT I WAS VERBALLY / OPENLY OBJECTING TO] SAID TO THE COUNTER STAFF MEMBER [THE INSTRUCTING SARGENT MAJOR] "THAT IS DISGUSTING" [IN RELATION TO HER BEHAVIOUR / DONINEERING DEMEANOUR AND WHAT SHE WAS MAKING ME GO THROUGH].

Unfortunately Halifax is following the same model as Barclays by refusing to offer a counter service. Even told me if I wanted to pay money into my account, I should use the post office. How is this providing a service to the customer?. Very disappointed.
