Used these opticians for years. (2nd generation family business)Always very friendly and professional.Text reminders for appointments.Can book online, via phone or in person.Do diabetic eye checks as well as standard NHS, laser scans for eye health also available for small extra charge.For me (needing more than plain single vision lenses) , prices are competitive and are good value (don't forget you are buying something for possibly 2 years or more).

I have worn glasses since I was ten so I have been to many different opticians over the years. However, none compare to Houghton Opticians. I needed some specialised advice on contact lenses due to issues with my eyes following laser eye surgery. Natalie has been so thorough in finding the right lenses for me and I'm thrilled to be able to ditch the glasses for a while. Highly recommend!

There are several reasons why I don't go to Specsavers or one of the other main stream retailers, the main one being - I DONT NEED TOO! The service you get here is first class, they offer a great range of products at a reasonable price and most importantly - they are open, honest and always friendly! Cant recommend them enough.

I am so pleased with the service I have just received, absolutely first class. Very thorough test from Ian the optometrist, great help with choosing new frames from Paula and a friendly welcome from everyone else. Great choice of frames and lenses. Having worn specs for over 50 years I know what a difference it makes to feel confident and happy with the test, choice and service. Highly recommended.
