Burger King's Empty Poole Unit to be Filled

Just a few months ago, the Burger King which was located in the Poole town centre closed its doors for the last time. Their lease came to an end and obviously, they had no intention of a renewal.

Recent rumours indicate that the unit which has remained empty for almost 3 months, is to be filled with a new tenant.

We are yet to discover who this new tenant is for sure, but there are many indications that it will be a well-known coffee shop; Coffee#1.

One of the cabinet members for economy, culture and leisure at the Borough of Poole, Cllr Mohan Iyengar, has told that the fate of the building is still unsure and that they are yet to find a tenant who is suitable for the unit.

Boyer, the planning consultants who have been approached, stated that the area must be partially enclosed with canvas wind breaks due to there being moveable steel posts in place.

Cllr told us, "We welcome a range of different businesses which can be taken advantage of not only during business hours, but outside of them too."

However, a recent application was submitted showing that a Coffee#1 branch could take the place of the previous Burger King. The application which was submitted also shows that an outdoor seating area would play a part for the coffee shop and that 20 chairs and 5 tables would be there.

There are already a couple of other coffee shops in the area, including a Starbucks and a Caffe Nero.

Carlie Palmer, the Poole BID manager, told that she was excited for another chain to be opening launching a new store in the area.

"It goes to show that the High Street is a worthwhile business investment and the fact that there are already another 2 coffee shops within the area, and another coming very soon, proves this. It shows that our community has a growing economy and that businesses want to play their part in it.", Carlie said.
