Chester in the Midst of Welcoming Starbucks and Greggs

The popular coffee shop chain, Starbucks, alongside popular British bakery Greggs, will be opening their doors in Chester.

Shortly after announcing their intentions to open locations in Chester, Starbucks and Greggs have announced both of their opening dates. Greggs will be opening on Friday the 22nd of September while Starbucks is set to open their doors sometime in October. These shops will be in Greyhound Retail Park and will be next to each other.

According to Greggs, they are the "leading retailer for food on the go" and with this new location, they will be bringing nine jobs to the area.

The new Greggs will also include an indoor seating area.

According to a Greggs spokesperson, "As with all of our Greggs shops, this location will provide sandwiches and sweet treats - all of which will be freshly prepared each day. We will also be bringing our "Balanced Choice" range for those who are looking to eat healthier."

"The Balanced Choice menu includes salads, soups, and a variety of fresh fruit will be available. A hot drinks machine will also be installed in this new shop so that customers are able to enjoy fresh coffee with their food.", they went on to say.

This new Greggs establishment will be open from 7am until 7pm on Monday through Friday, and 9am until 5pm on Sundays.

There is currently already a Greggs in Chester, located on Frodsham Street, and have over 1,750 locations across the UK. Greggs also recently opened up their first drive-thru Greggs in the Salford area.

Both Starbucks and Greggs will be located in the Greyhound Retail Park and are to be seen as competition to the Subway sandwich shop which is just on the other side of the road.

Subway opened up their shop on Greyhound Park Road back in 2016 and Costa, which has been a part of the retail park since 2012, is also located nearby.

Starbucks already has outlets located on Northgate Street as well as within the BP Petrol Station that is on Parkgate Road.

An upper management operations manager of Starbucks, Florent Arcin, has stated, "We can't wait to open the doors of our new Starbucks coffee shop in October."

"Our franchise partner, Queensway Coffee, will be operating the new Starbucks store in Greyhound Retail Park and with this new store, we will be bringing a total of 15 jobs to the area.", she continued.
