Corby Set to Welcome New Fast-Food and Coffee Chains

According to applications received in Corby recently, a two-storey McDonald's franchise is set to open with a drive-thru feature. Located at the Corby Southern Gateway, Little Colliers Field, the site already has previous planning permission for industrial use and is currently vacant.

In addition to a McDonald's, the same location will also welcome a Costa Coffee outlet complete with a drive-thru function; the planning application included two commercial properties for the location near the Oakley Hay roundabout. The Development Control Committee for Corby Council is set to discuss the prospective plan the next meeting in January; the prepared report for the meeting suggests the McDonald's and Costa outlets will run alongside two 'A1-A5 use' commercial units.

For those familiar with the area, they'll be aware of the Premier Inn, Greggs, and petrol station already located off the A6003 roundabout. In terms of the new ventures, they'll be found to the west of a vast space which has already been linked with various residential development plans and could hold up to 48 properties.

If all is well and the development is a success, the McDonald's alone will hire 65 people on either a full-time or part-time basis.
