The new Ikea establishment will be less than a one-hour drive of Leicester and will be much bigger than the existing Coventry and Nottinghamshire stores.
The new Ikea location, that Ikea has announced to be bigger than the existing Coventry and Nottinghamshire stores, will be less than an hour away from Leicester.
Ikea's huge store is being built on a 35,000 square-metre plot (which is simply gigantic) and is located next near the Meadowhall area.
Nottinghamshire's current Ikea store is in the midst of an expansion to increase the store's current area to 31,900 square metres which even then, is much smaller than the new Sheffield branch.
It was recently announced by Ikea that this new store will be opening its doors for the first time on the 28th of September.
The store will include a restaurant, a day-care centre, and the car park will consist of 1,380 parking spaces.
Garry Deakin, the manager of the new store, has told us, "Sheffield communities have been asking for an Ikea store in the area for a long time, so it feels fantastic that we can finally give them what they want. We can't want to open the doors for our eager customers."
"On top of that, I can't wait to finalise our staff team and meet a lot of new people - it's an incredibly exciting time.", Garry continued.
Garry then went on to say, "Our team are committed to providing a top-notch service and making sure that our customers have an easy way navigating themselves around our huge store. The day-care centre is just one of the innovative things that we have to offer."
