St James Development to Bring a 24-7 Anytime Fitness Centre

Anytime Fitness, the popular 24/7 gym, will be opening a new gym located at the St James Retail and Leisure park.

Anytime Fitness, who has been crediting themselves as the biggest 24/7 gym chain out there, recently signed a deal for the £53m development project which if all goes well, will be opened at the beginning of 2018.

The gym chain recently signed up to a 15-year lease for the unit. The unit itself spans across two stories and is a total of 5,770 square-feet.

Other big names have also been seizing the opportunity and have announced their intentions to expand to St James Retail and Leisure Park. One of these names is Superdrug, who are going to be filling the 5,000 square-foot unit next to the Marks and Spencer's Foodhall.

This announcement was made shortly after pictures were taken using a drone which shows how quickly the site construction was progressing.

With this gym being opened early 2018, we will once again see local communities and residents having access to a fully functional leisure centre. There is currently a council owned gym in Dover, although it is set to be demolished in coming months.

The St James Retail and Leisure Park will be built across a 156,000 square-foot area of land and names such as Next and Marks & Spencer will be a part of this venture.

On top of these names, we will see Cineworld (featuring a total of 6 big screens), Travelodge (which will include as many as 108 beds), Poundland, Nando's, Carphone Warehouse, and even a Costa Coffee. To top it off, there will be a total of 445 car parking spaces on site.

Bond City is the construction company behind the St James development - a development which is being funded by Legal & General who have paid over £53 million to kickstart the development.
